It’s well known that Honkai: Star Rail mechanics are very similar to Genshin Impact from the gacha system to the protagonist-focused story. However, there’s a main difference that can’t be found in both games at the same time, which is the ending. Genshin Impact still has a long way to go before revealing the ending. Honkai: Star Rail, on the other hand, offers players two choices and one of them leads to a secret ending.
Luckily for players, achieving the secret ending in Honkai: Star Rail doesn’t require a lot of work as only completing the Prologue and unlocking the Herta Space Station is necessary. After that, choosing a couple of specific conversation options is enough to trigger the ending.
How To Get The Secret Ending In Honkai Star Rail
To get the secret ending in Honkai: Star Rail players must refuse to board the Astra Express and choose to stay in the Herta Space Station. The requirements are completing the Prologue Mission in Honkai: Star Rail and successfully beating the Simulated Universe: First Closed Beta Mission.
Upon meeting all the necessary requirements, speak with a couple of characters and choose the following conversation option with each one:

After choosing all the previous options, the Astral Express will head out and leave Trailblazers behind in Honkai: Star Rail.
What Happens In The Secret Ending
After Himeko, Welt, Dan Heng, and March 7th board the Astral Express to continue their Mission, the protagonist will stay behind at the Herta Space Station to do more research with Herta. Sadly, shortly after the spaceship starts rebuilding, Herta conducts a couple of experiments but quickly loses interest in the Stellaron, leaving players lost with no clear goal. Asta then helps by offering a Researcher position within the Space Station.
Many years pass, and the protagonist lives a normal life with the occasional visit from the Astral Express and catching up with old friends. Sadly, the visits suddenly stop and Trailblazer learns later on that the Astral Express and the Stellaron Hunters are gone forever. This makes the protagonist wonder what happened and if choosing another option in the past would have led to different results.
Depending on how players see it, this secret ending can be considered a bad one since some of the important characters in Honkai: Star Rail are gone. Additionally, Trailblazers won’t get the chance to explore more planets and meet new people. As a result, it will be impossible to gain knowledge and become stronger, which may be why Herta lost interest quickly in the first place.
