Relics and Planar Ornaments are key components of the character-building aspect of Honkai Star Rail. Min-maxing might not be an absolute necessity, but getting optimized stats for each playable character is still required if players want to take on high-level content.

Planar Ornaments are much like Relics—they provide meaningful stat bumps when equipped on characters, the difference being that these come with different set bonuses that can complement specific character builds on top of the ones provided by Relics. Here's how to farm for them in Honkai Star Rail.

How to Get Planar Ornaments in Honkai Star Rail

Planar Ornaments in Honkai Star Rail

Planar Ornaments are unique items that only drop from Herta's Simulated Universe starting in World 3. Players are free to challenge any of the Simulated Universe's worlds at any time as long as they have them unlocked, but they will need to be at least Equilibrium Level 2 to reach the minimum recommended level for World 3.

While exploring Herta's digital universe, players will encounter immersion devices every time they enter an Elite combat domain or the final boss room. Once all enemies are defeated, players will be able to interact with the device. Spend either 40 Trailblaze Power or one Immersifier to receive all Planar Ornaments shown on the screen. The stats they roll with are randomized, and each Simulated Universe world has two different Planar Ornament sets that players can farm for.

Immersifiers can be found very early in the Simulated Universe's Point Rewards track, though this might change depending on what appears after every weekly reset.

Players do not need to reach the final boss in order to claim immersion device rewards. Usually, there are one or two Elite encounters halfway through a run—beat these, claim the Planar Ornaments, then quit out of the Simulated Universe for more efficient farming. However, once players can deal with Gepard easily in Simulated Universe World 3's last room (or any other boss in the future), then it would be better to complete the entire run instead. Keep in mind that Planar Ornaments can only be claimed once per device.

A full world completion gives more Score for progressing the Point Rewards track as well as more Ability Points for use in the Simulated Universe's dedicated Ability Tree.

Planar Ornaments (the Planar Spheres, specifically) can roll with elemental damage as their main stat, making them essential for maximizing the damage output and relative effectiveness of characters. Only two Planar Ornaments can be worn by a character at any time.

Honkai: Star Rail is available now for PC and mobile devices. PS4 and PS5 versions are in development.
