Stellar Jades are the lifeblood of any Honkai Star Rail player. They can be used to replenish Trailblaze Power but, more importantly, this rare resource is used to purchase Star Rail Passes for the game's gacha banners.

Quests usually give enough Stellar Jades to start an early hoard, but players will only be able to get so much before they run out of missions to do. Luckily, there are plenty of other sources in the universe—so much so that it's hard to keep track of them all. Here are the possible ways to farm free Stellar Jades in Honkai Star Rail.

Where to Get Stellar Jade in Honkai Star Rail

There are a number of free Stellar Jade sources in the game. Some are repeatable, while others can only be earned once. Players will also want to invest heavily into their core characters and team compositions since many of these sources involve clearing difficult content.

Daily Training

This is the primary source of Stellar Jades in Honkai Star Rail. Daily Training missions are basically this game's version of Daily Commissions from Genshin Impact, except these are woven into Star Rail's core gameplay loop. Most Daily Training objectives require players to do things they would normally do, like salvage relics, break enemy Toughness bars, complete a Cavern of Corrosion run, and other similar activities.

Daily Training rewards players with up to 60 Stellar Jades and over 1000 Trailblaze EXP per day. They take no more than five minutes to complete, so always try to do them right after logging in.

Simulated Universe

Herta's metaverse offers rewards to players who can meet its point requirements. This includes Star Rail Passes, Credits, Immersifiers, and up to 105 Stellar Jades per week. On top of this, players can get up to 3590 Stellar Jades by unlocking Curio and Blessing Index entries, which can be done by simply playing this roguelite game mode.

Simulated Universe can be very tough for unprepared players, so bring a good team with decent Relics and Light Cones before diving in.

Forgotten Hall

The Forgotten Hall is where much of the endgame of Honkai Star Rail takes place. It is composed of 15 challenges that increase in difficulty the further players progress. Successfully beating a Forgotten Hall floor while meeting the requisite challenge conditions rewards players with 200 Stellar Jades for a total of 3000 after completing every floor. This activity can be unlocked by completing the Fleeting Lights quest.

It's unclear if the Forgotten Hall resets with every battle pass period, but considering its similarity to Genshin Impact's Spiral Abyss, it is very likely that it will.

Operation Briefing

Another mechanic that Genshin Impact players might be familiar with is Operation Briefing, which is essentially a checklist of objectives that are designed to push players through the Honkai Star Rail's natural progression path. The objectives here involve significant account milestones like getting characters to level 40 and unlocking core gameplay activities like Stagnant Shadows,

Complete each page of the Operation Briefing to earn Stellar Jades and other goodies. Latter pages reward more Stellar Jades, but they are generally harder to complete.

Warring Expeditions

This side activity puts players on Fragmentum cleanup duty on Herta Space Station and the frontlines of Belobog. After completing the story missions in each major region, players can speak with an NPC to begin the related Warring Expedition in the area.

On Herta Space Station, speak with the Security Department Member in the Storage Zone after completing the Signs of Fragmentum adventure mission. For Belobog, go to the Silvermane Guard Restricted Zone and speak with either Liaison Officer Williams or the robot Aide next to Captain Dunn after completing their respective adventure missions. Players can earn up to 60 Stellar Jades per difficulty level. As of the game's launch version, Warring Expeditions cannot be repeated for more Stellar Jade rewards.

Chests and Warp Trotters

As one would expect, chests are one-time loot sources that players can open up for Stellar Jades and other useful items. Each area has a certain number of chests hidden within them, and most of the time, players will only be able to get all of them after finishing certain story missions. The same applies to Warp Trotters, docile creatures that can be killed for Stellar Jades.

The map screen will indicate how many chests and Warp Trotters are available in an area, and the same counter will also keep track of how many are left to be discovered.

Vendor Loyalty Rewards

Each of the main hub areas has special vendors that sell a variety of upgrade materials. Spend enough region-specific currency, and they will give players loyalty rewards that may include Stellar Jades. On Herta Space Station, for example, players can buy items from Wen Shiqi in the Master Control Zone in exchange for Hertareum. Reach the breakpoints listed on the store screen to claim loyalty rewards.

Vendor inventories will eventually be exhausted, and unless they restock in future patches, players won't be able to farm Stellar Jades from these sources.

Other small and limited but otherwise recurring Stellar Jade sources include:

  • Achievements
  • Character text messages
  • Astral Express visitor interactions
  • Five-star character trials
  • Trailblaze Level rewards
  • Promo codes
  • Limited-time events

Honkai: Star Rail is now available on Android, iOS, and PC. A PlayStation version is in development.
