Bronya Rand is a 5-star Harmony character who focuses on controlling the flow of battle while giving her team big damage buffs. She's one of the best support characters in Honkai: Star Rail, and she can fit in almost any team that relies on nuking enemies to oblivion.

There aren't many characters that can outright make buff the team's damage output as of the early launch version of Honkai: Star Rail, which makes Bronya a high-value unit for teams with strong nukers like Dan Heng. Here's a guide on what Relics to get, which stats to prioritize, and what Traces to level up first for Bronya.

Bronya's job is to increase the effectiveness of the team's damage dealers and move important characters up the turn order. Her personal damage output is much lower compared to other characters, but she more than makes up for it with all the buffs she can provide. With that said, players will want to prioritize stacking stats that fully use her support-oriented kit.

  • Core Stat Priorities: CRIT DMG, Speed, Break Effect, ATK%
  • Planar Ornament Stat Priorities: Wind DMG, Energy Regen
  • Relic Sets: Eagle of Twilight Line (4PC), Sprightly Vonwacq/Fleet of the Ageless (2PC)
  • Light Cones: The Battle Isn't Over (5-star), Dance! Dance! Dance! (4-star)

Despite not being a DPS unit, CRIT DMG is at the top of Bronya's stat priority because of her Ascension passive, which gives her 100% CRIT Rate. More importantly, her ultimate's damage buff scales off of her total CRIT DMG.

Bronya's guaranteed crits also mean players can use the Thief of Shooting Meteor set so Bronya can get even more Break Effect. However, this is mostly situational, and the bonuses to Wind DMG and Speed given by Eagle of Twilight Line are more useful in most cases. As for Planar Ornaments, Fleet of the Ageless lets Bronya grant an extra 8% damage buff to her team once she breaches the 120 Speed threshold. Meanwhile, Sprightly Vonwacq gives her 5% more energy regeneration, and if she has more than 145 Speed, she'll get to act faster at the start of every fight.

Speed is the second most useful stat for Bronya because it stacks with her Talent, Leading The Way—this advances her next turn every time she uses a basic attack. A fast Bronya means more Skill Points and faster ultimate recharge rates. The same line of thinking applies to her choices of Light Cones.

The Battle Isn't Over is the best one Bronya can use because it increases her energy regeneration while also amplifying the ATK buff that her Skill, Combat Redeployment, can give to allies.

To top that off, this Light Cone also makes her ultimate generate an extra Skill Point once every two turns. Players who don't have The Battle Isn't Over can instead use Dance! Dance! Dance!, which moves the action of all allies forward after its wearer uses their ultimate.

Bronya Trace Leveling Order

Level up the following traces first when building Bronya:

  • The Belobog March (Ultimate)
  • Combat Redeployment (Skill)
  • Basic attack
  • Leading The Way (Talent)

For her passive Traces, take the ones that increase Wind DMG over the others. When she isn't buffing allies, Bronya should always be using her basic attack to deal chip damage and generate Skill Points for the team.

Ideally, Combat Redeployment should be used only when a good opportunity shows itself, such as when allies have their ultimate abilities ready. Carelessly spamming this ability can drain players of their SP very quickly. Seele is a strong character who can make very efficient use of this buff because her Resurgence attacks do not count as new turns, which means Combat Redeployment will not expire as long as Seele can score a kill.

Use Bronya's Ultimate in tandem with the team's main damage dealer. The ATK bonus grants stacks with the buff from her Skill and the abilities of other characters. Putting Bronya and Tingyun together can make for an interesting hyper-carry team composition where both support units pour all their buffs on the team's damage dealer, resulting in ridiculous damage numbers.

Eidolons aren't necessary to make Bronya a viable support unit. However, having one (or multiple) bonuses will only push this character to even greater heights.

Honkai: Star Rail is now available on Android, iOS, and PC. A PlayStation version is in development.
