There are many ways to deal damage in Honkai: Star Rail, but so far, no unit in the game manages to do so quite like Qingque does. She has what might be the most unique gameplay mechanic out of all playable characters so far, and this makes her a bit confusing to use at first.

Qingque is a weird Honkai: Star Rail character who relies a lot on luck. Her main source of damage is inconsistent, but whenever it does become available, she can chunk entire groups of enemies down with a single hit. This 4-star unit might make players feel like they're playing a gacha game within a gacha game, but with the right build, Qingque can maintain a steady rhythm of abilities and basic attacks that can turn her into a reliable AOE DPS character.

Honkai: Star Rail Qingque Build

Qingque, a 4-star Quantum unit in Honkai: Star Rail

Qingque is an Erudition unit, which means her kit is dedicated to dealing AOE damage. Her closest ST counterpart is Seele as of Honkai: Star Rail 1.0, and they're both great at breaking Quantum Toughness bars. With her role in the team in mind, players should look to buff Qinque's damage output wherever possible. Here are the recommended Relics, Light Cones, and stat priorities for this character:

  • Core Stat Priorities: CRIT, ATK%, SPD
  • Planar Ornaments: Quantum DMG, ATK%
  • Relic Sets: Genius of Brilliant Stars (4PC), Space Sealing Station (2PC)
  • Light Cones: Night on the Milky Way (5-Star), Today is Another Peaceful Day (4-Star), Geniuses' Repose (4-Star), The Seriousness of Breakfast (4-Star)

Players can build Qingque just like other DPS characters—focus on getting a 1:2 CRIT Rate to DMG ratio once Relics become farmable, and try to get Quantum DMG on Planar Spheres to maximize her attack power.

The full Genius of Brilliant Stars set grants both extra Quantum DMG and Quantum RES PEN, the latter of which is extremely valuable given the lack of RES PEN sources in the game. If needed, players can combine this set with either Musketeer of Wild Wheat or Thief of Shooting Meteor for more upfront damage.

Regarding Light Cones, Geniuses' Repose should only be considered if Qingque has enough CRIT Rate. Otherwise, any other Light Cone with direct ATK buffs would be preferable.

Qingque Abilities and Trace Leveling Order

Qinque in Honkai: Star Rail

All of Qingque's abilities scale to give her more raw offensive power. As such, they should be leveled accordingly:

  • A Quartet? Woo-hoo! (Ultimate)
  • A Scoop of Moon (Skill)
  • Celestial Jade (Talent)
  • Basic attack

Qingque's ultimate ability is her most reliable tool. Use it to immediately damage all enemies on the field and gain an enhanced basic attack which will also hit multiple targets for increased damage.

A Scoop of Moon trumps Celestial Jade in terms of leveling priority. By investing in this skill first, players will be able to enjoy higher self-ATK buffs for Qingque without relying on RNG. Still, since her entire playstyle revolves around throwing empowered basic attacks, players should level up Celestial Jade as soon as they can. Having a Support character buff her outgoing damage can increase her effectiveness exponentially.

Tile Battle, Qingque's first Ascension passive, makes A Scoop of Moon refund a Skill Point upon use. Get this unlocked as soon as possible to help Qingque stack as many ATK bonuses before unleashing her ultimate and empowered basic attacks.

Honkai: Star Rail is available now for PC and mobile devices. PS4 and PS5 versions are in development.
