In Honkai: Star Rail, 5-star characters usually offer the best in terms of role-related performance. As of the game's launch version, Himeko is a good example among the existing Erudition roster who is capable of dealing astounding damage against groups of enemies.

Despite being primarily an AOE damage specialist, Himeko can fit in many teams as a generalist-type unit. She might not output as much damage against Bosses and Elites like Seele, Yanqing, or even Dan Heng, but she does have certain synergies that make her very powerful in specific situations. Here are two team comps featuring this character in Honkai: Star Rail which doesn't involve AFK Calyx farming with Herta.

Himeko's signature Ultimate and follow-up attacks all deal AOE damage, making her great for cleaving through weaker targets. With enough investment into her stats and Traces, Himeko can shred through most targets with ease, including Bosses and Elites that normally give her trouble. Still, she works best with a team who can complement her strengths and cover for her weaknesses.

Firebreak Follow-Up Team

Honkai-Star-Rail-Himeko-book

This is a Simulated Universe team that's specifically meant to farm World 6, which contains many enemies that are weak to Fire DMG.

  • DPS: Himeko
  • Support: Asta
  • Any Tank
  • Any Healer

The important part here is to get as many blessings from the Path of Elation as possible to significantly increase the damage of Himeko's follow-up attacks. Take every damage-related blessing that appears and grab the Break Effect blessings from the Path of Nihility as well to further boost the team's potential.

Asta is the preferred Support here. She can break Toughness bars extremely quickly while also providing ATK and SPD buffs. Also, Asta can give Himeko an extra ATK% increase by equipping the Planetary Rendezvous Light Cone, which increases the damage dealt by anyone who matches the same element as its wearer.

The other two slots here are flexible. Players can take the Abundance Path Resonance instead of a healer and use the free slot to add a single-target DPS (preferably Seele or Dan Heng) to cover for HImeko's weaknesses in boss/elite fights. However, this might make it harder for players to obtain the right Elation blessings needed to get Himeko's damage online.

Burn DoT Team

Pouting Hook in Honkai Star Rail

This setup is more for general play that can see some success across all content where Fire DMG is a must-have. It focuses on Himeko's ability to inflict Burn and all the benefits that come with it.

  • DPS 1: Himeko
  • DPS 2: Hook
  • Any Tank/Support
  • Any Healer/Support

Both Hook and Himeko have Traces that grant them increased damage versus Burning enemies. Pair this with the fact that they can both inflict this status effect onto anything they attack, and the two will get to enjoy a near-constant source of free ATK without having a Support character to buff their damage.

Again, the Tank and Healer slots here are flexible. However, since Hook and Himeko share the same element, it's highly recommended to have two other characters who have different elements. This is to ensure that the team doesn't run into any trouble when it comes to exploiting the Weaknesses of fire-resistant enemies.

Honkai: Star Rail is available now for PC and mobile devices. PS4 and PS5 versions are in development.
