Qingque is somewhat notorious for her RNG-heavy kit in Honkai: Star Rail. If players aren't lucky, they can miss out on a ton of damage, and such a risk typically isn't ideal on a damage-dealing unit. However, when the stars do align, Qingque can output massive bursts of damage that make her the premier AOE character for dealing with Quantum-weak enemies.

Having QIngque on the field does mean that players have to sacrifice a tiny bit of reliability. She isn't as consistent as Honkai: Star Rail's other characters like Seele or Jing Yuan, but seeing this gacha gremlin deal as much damage as these two top-tier characters brings its own kind of satisfaction. Here's a guide on how to build a team around Qingque.

Honkai: Star Rail Best Qingque Team Comps

It's important to understand that Qingque has the potential to be the most SP-hungry character in the game. Players can continuously dump Skill Points during her turn in hopes of getting that perfect quartet of tiles. The following setups are made with this weakness in mind, and they aim to mitigate the risk of the entire team not dealing enough damage to clear combat encounters.

Hyper Roll Gambling Team

Qingque using her ultimate in Honkai: Star Rail

This team goes all-in on Qingque's Skill, allowing players to keep rolling for that four-piece match without losing out on DPS or getting starved of Skill Points. In theory, this can be successful in Memory of Chaos floors that have enemies with Quantum weaknesses, but for the most part, players will have the most success with this comp in the Simulated Universe.

  • DPS: Qingque
  • Sub-DPS: Arlan
  • Healer: Natasha
  • Tank: March 7th (E6 preferred)

Qingque can keep rerolling her tiles until she can get an Empowered Basic Attack for max damage. In the off-chance that she fails to get a perfect hand, Arlan will be the one to compensate for lost damage. He can deal a surprising amount of ST damage if built correctly, and more importantly, he won't consume any Skill Points to make any big hits.

Natasha and March 7th are both Skill Point-positive characters who can help fuel QIngque's gambling while also keeping Arlan from getting knocked out. This team works well in any encounter that requires Lightning and Quantum DMG, though players need to invest enough in both damage dealers for this setup to work optimally.

Erudition Hypercarry Variation

Qingque, a 4-star Quantum unit in Honkai: Star Rail

This Simulated Universe setup goes hard on AOE damage with two Erudition characters and blessings from the Path of the Elation. It works best with E4 Qingque, as it unlocks her ability to perform follow-up attacks.

  • DPS: Jing Yuan
  • Sub-DPS: Qingque
  • Tank: Gepard/Fire Trailblazer
  • Flex slot: Tingyun or Natasha

Jing Yuan and Qingque combined provide three separate sources of AOE damage. The former's attacks from his Lightning Lord are strong enough to brute force their way against Lightning-resistant enemies, making him a good generalist pick in the Simulated Universe. All players need to be mindful of here is to not overspend on Qingque's Skill, as Jing Yuan needs to power up the Lightning Lord.

AOE shielding from Gepard is the most ideal protection option here, though it's mostly due to how strong he can be with just a couple of Preservation blessings. Fire Trailblazer is a good alternative, though not as strong defense-wise.

Players can pick between getting a Healer or Tingyun in their last slot. The former is better for overall SP management, while the latter might result in resource problems. However, if players can get the upgraded Twenty-First Military Rule Elation blessing, they can potentially bypass any Skill Point issues thanks to its effect that refunds SP after every follow-up attack.

Honkai: Star Rail is available now on PC and mobile devices. A PlayStation version is in development.
