HoYoverse showed off new Honkai: Star Rail gameplay featuring Mr. Welt Yang, one of the game's playable characters introduced at launch. Featuring several playable characters and an intriguing game world, Honkai: Star Rail is already one of 2023's biggest releases with millions of fans downloading and trying out HoYoverse's new RPG.

Favoring from the worldwide success and recognition of Genshin Impact, HoYoverse's Honkai: Star Rail quickly surpassed 20 million downloads on mobile devices and PC. Honkai: Star Rail features gacha elements and an anime-inspired art style like Genshin Impact and Honkai Impact 3rd, but players are introduced to a turn-based RPG experience this time around. HoYoverse fans can still expect a steady flow of post-launch updates with new characters and story content in Honkai: Star Rail, however. One of the game's playable characters is Mr. Welt, which HoYoverse decided to showcase in a brand-new trailer.

The latest Honkai: Star Rail trailer introduces Mr. Welt, an experienced member of the Astral Express crew and the savior of Earth. As a former sovereign of Anti-Entropy, Welt follows the path of the Nihility as an Imaginary-type fighter in Honkai: Star Rail. Welt's Imaginary elemental powers allow him to manipulate gravity in battle, dealing powerful damage on single targets with a random chance of hitting additional targets. Welt's attacks also have a chance to slow down a target's speed for a set number of turns. Further, Welt's Talents allow him to deal additional Imaginary damage against slowed targets.

In Honkai: Star Rail, players may summon Welt to their party by spending a batch of Star Rail Passes on Warps. Every Honkai: Star Rail player has access to the Departure Wrap, which guarantees a 5-star character within 50 draws. Honkai: Star Rail players may use the Departure Wrap to summon Welt, Yanqing, Bronya, Gepard, Himeko, Clara, or Bailu to their party.

Mr. Welt appears to be one of the most useful characters in Honkai: Star Rail due to his attacks and techniques being able to deal major movement speed debuffs. Delaying an enemy's attack allows the party to inflict more damage before the opposition is able to act, giving the player a noticeable advantage in combat. Thus far, Welt proves to be a valuable asset for a player's party alongside DPS character Dan Heng.

Honkai: Star Rail leaks suggest HoYoverse is already planning to introduce nearly a dozen new characters within the next few post-launch updates. Versions 1.1 through 1.3 are expected to bring two new characters per update, so players may want to save some Star Rail Passes for those updates after summoning Mr. Welt.

Honkai: Star Rail is available now for Android, iOS, and PC. PS4 and PS5 versions are in development.
