Cal will obtain the Upgraded Ascension Cable during his second visit to the Shattered Moon when he interacts with the Workbench located toward the top of the base. He won't be able to access the Workbench during his first visit, as the door leading inside can only be opened with the Force Lift ability, which is obtained during Cal and Bode's visit to the Lucrehulk on Koboh.

So long as players continue playing through the main campaign until they visit the Shattered Moon for a second time, the Upgraded Ascension Cable will be acquired automatically.

After obtaining the Upgraded Ascension Cable, Cal will be able to use the device to grapple to yellow balloons and leap away from them, which will usually allow him to reach previously inaccessible areas. This ability is needed to progress through the final few areas of the game, and it can also be used to help Cal reach other hard-to-reach areas in different worlds.

To grapple to a yellow balloon, Cal must be standing within range of one so he can activate the Ascension Cable. Some yellow balloons will be out of reach at first, so Cal may need to leap toward them before he is given the option to grapple to them.

Upon grappling to a yellow balloon, players can hold the Ascension Cable button down to let Cal land on the balloon itself. Then, while holding the button down, players can aim Cal in the direction they want him to leap. After a few moments have passed, Cal will automatically be forced to jump in whatever direction he is facing, so players will need to decide where they want to go quickly before the game decides for them.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is now available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
