With Respawn Entertainment taking all the criticisms from the first entry within the series and improving upon it within Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, it meant new systems would need to be implemented. As well as developers giving players more variety in their options for stances, so has the new perk addition, by giving various different boosts to certain strengths.

While arguably not as effective nor important as the abilities of each stance, it still contributes to the gameplay experience, especially as Jedi: Survivor has many moments that could put players under heaps of difficulty, with a need to adjust and prioritize other play styles. These are some of the best perks players should prioritize in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.

5 Fortification

When taking into consideration the numerous amount of sequences in which players are overwhelmed with enemies, particularly those with blasters, the 'Fortification' perk is a necessity. This will help players' health regenerate to a minimum amount gradually, which can be a lifesaver at the end of encounters with very little health, no healing stims remaining and being placed far away from any meditation points.

Whilst it is only a minimum amount of health recuperated, it is at least something, that can benefit players who find themselves on their last legs in combat. Among all the other perks available, this is one of the more beneficial ones, especially if players choose a stance that is less defensive and more offensive.

4 Resilience

Just like many of the well-known Souls-like titles, more specifically Sekiro Shadows Die Twice, players' block meters are very integral to the flow of combat, and these meters completely depleting could be the difference between survival or death. With the 'Resilience' perk, this block meter is increased to help players who are not too fond of timed parries, protect themselves from incoming attacks, and only take up the room of one perk slot.

With this perk, some of the smaller and less dangerous foes throughout Cal's journey will be much less of an issue, as their attacks do not do much damage to deplete players' block meter to begin with, so this will reinforce this for most of the encounters.

3 Precision

Speaking of blocks and parries and the aforementioned Sekiro Shadows Die Twice, if there is any perk that is reminiscent of its combat in the aspect of timed parries and their effectiveness, it would be 'Precision' in Jedi: Survivor. Breaking enemies' postures in Sekiro by parrying or attacking was incredibly pivotal in every single combat encounter, as this was what enabled players to apply the finishing blow, or at the very least take down a good chunk of enemies' health.

The same principle applies here in Jedi: Survivor, but the addition of the 'Precision' perk increases the amount of damage done to enemies' block meter, but primarily through parrying. Whilst the parry window is a lot shorter than normal, it is certainly worth it, especially for those who are confident with timing and are able to go toe-to-toe with the toughest and quickest enemies in the game.

2 Perplexity

One of the greatest strategies in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor when in the heat of combat, is the possibility of turning enemies against one another with the 'Confusion' Force ability, which can be further upgraded to 'Greater Confusion'. While this is useful and important when players need a breather in the midst of all the combat, the level of damage done depending on the enemy type, can be very little at times.

With the 'Perplexity' perk, the level of damage is increased, giving players a greater advantage once controlled enemies come back to their senses, allowing for a quicker and more efficient execution on other damaged enemies. This stacked along with all the skills related to Cal Kestis' mind trick, not only makes for an amusing spectacle seeing enemies damage one another, but it releases the pressure for some time.

1 Shatter

Cal in Koboh vs enemy

Possibly the best perk above all to use in Jedi: Survivor, when used alongside the 'Precision' perk, is the 'Shatter' perk. Juxtaposed with timed parrying dealing greater damage to enemies' block meter, is the ability to break enemies off their balance at a much faster rate when attacking. A large majority of the time, enemies can deflect Cal's attacks, or it can sometimes feel like certain attacks are completely ignored.

With this perk, players can be confident of dealing with a large group of enemies at a faster rate as opposed to normal circumstances. This is especially useful against some of the tank-like enemies, who often take require a great number of attacks before finally succumbing to defeat. Despite the difficulty modes also play a part in how much damage is done along with parry windows and timing, it is great to know that this is an option and can be used or switched out with others at any meditation point at any time during the journey. Acquiring this perk will require players to take out the extremely dangerous and deadly Rancor in Koboh, but it is very much worthwhile.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is now available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
