Star Wars Jedi: Survivor features plenty of legendary enemies that will seek to test the powers and abilities of the player and Cal Kestis as they progress through the game. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor features large open-area planets and moons, and Frenzied Jotaz is one of the secret boss fights that could cause the player some distress.

Frenzied Jotaz is much like an ogre, yet not the loveable Scottish and green kind that talks about the layers of onions. Frenzied Jotaz needs a permanent nap, and it’s something that Cal Kestis can do with his lightsaber, even if it may be more of a challenge than one anticipated.

Where To Find Frenzied Jotaz

To embark on the hunt for Frenzied Jotaz, players are going to want to head to Coruscant. However, it’s worth noting that players are going to need a specific BD-1 Upgrade if they are to unlock the room that holds Frenzied Jotaz.

Players will need the Electro Dart ability for BD-1 before they can fight Frenzied Jotaz. It’s best to stay on the Star Wars Jedi: Survivor story path until this time, and then make the journey to Coruscant. The easiest way to get to the secret boss in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is to start from the Undercity Meats Meditation Point.

From here, players will want to head forward and grapple to the wall, climbing it and heading left, and then taking an immediate right. They will know they are in the right place because they will hear banging and roars from a locked door. Simply shoot the blue electric module in the top right corner with BD-1’s Electro Dart, and Frenzied Jotaz will be unleashed.

Frenzied Jotaz’s Move Set

It’s best to learn the attack patterns of the Frenzied Jotaz to stop an unfortunate demise at the hands of a larger beast. There’s a versatility of moves that Jotaz has that can challenge the player, as some moves can be parried, whereas others will deal a great deal of damage and need to be dodged or evaded, proving this interesting alien creature means business.

The best part about Frenzied Jotaz is how slow this creature’s attacks are. Players need to be cautious of the boss when they glow red, as this means it is an attack that cannot be blocked or parried. The first that players might see will be when their left arm raises, and they will swipe forward. Another red attack involves a short sweep with the same hand and a slam that involves both fists. It’s best to dodge or jump back to get out of the way of these attacks.

One of the quicker attacks from Frenzied Jotaz is in its vertical swing of both arms. These can be parried if the player has fast enough reflexes. It’s also worth noting the multiple-sweep attack that involves Frenzied Jotaz sweeping twice. However, be cautious of the third sweep, as it’s a red attack that will require players to dodge backward.

There’s another move to be cautious of, which involves Frenzied Jotaz roaring before dashing forward, using its strong legs to kick Cal. It can deal a decent chunk of damage, so it’s best to jump out of the way. Luckily, it’s not strong enough to instantly kill the player.

Best Lightsaber Stance

The two best lightsaber stances for this boss fight involving the Single Stance and the Dual Lightsaber Stance. This comes for a multitude of reasons, but the damage is the priority in this fight due to the easy parries and the fact that players won’t be using a lot of stamina to block attacks. The Claymore Stance is far too slow to warrant use in this fight.

For the Single Stance, players are going to want to place well-timed strikes into the Frenzied Jotaz boss. They’ll pick their moments between the boss’ rest, or between parries or blocks, allowing them to land a few strikes, but nothing too greedy, as the High Republic would teach.

For the Dual Lightsaber Stance, players might want to involve more risk. This lightsaber stance involves plenty of speed and damage, at the cost of stamina. Players can land a few nasty hits into Frenzied Jotaz when they have an opening, allowing for a flurry of damage before allowing safety to take hold of the match.

Use Force Abilities

Using abilities like Force Push or Force Slam does not affect Frenzied Jotaz. This legendary creature in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is simply far too big for Cal to have an effect on it with his Force moves. However, some abilities would greatly benefit this Jedi Knight as he seeks to take the head of this grand beast.

One skill that will benefit the Single or Dual Wield Stances is the Lightsaber Throw ability. This will use up some of the Force meters, but considering players won’t be using the Force in any way, it’s a great way to land a few safe hits on Frenzied Jotaz to chip away at its health while at a safe distance.

The other Force power that players will want to use is the Force Stasis ability. This move acts as a Force Slow and allows for Frenzied Jotaz to be hit a few times before the effects of time go back to normal. It’s also a great way to block an attack that the player wasn’t ready for. If the player has progressed far enough into the story, they will have an upgrade automatically unlocked for this special move that allows them to strike harder and faster while it is active.

Have BD-1 Stim Upgrades

Mistakes can happen, and boss fights are no joke. It’s best to bring in some BD-1 Stims for this boss fight. Whether it’s to regain some lost Force meter or to heal back some health that Frenzied Jotaz has stolen. BD-1 Stim Upgrades can be found all over the galaxy far, far away, and it’s best to bring a good few as a backup. Even the best bounty hunters would struggle against this boss, so more health is not an issue.

It’s never a shameful thing to heal during a fight. It’s not easy to complete a fight without getting hit, so if players need the help of their loyal friend BD-1, then they should press Up on the D-pad whenever they need it to stop Frenzied Jotaz from taking the life of the player.

What’s The Reward?

After the battle is won, Frenzied Jotaz will be a menace no more. This legendary boss fight in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be complete, and players will be free of its torment. Luckily, no trick up this boss fight’s sleeve involves it coming back from the dead, or its spawn coming back for revenge.

Instead, the door that Frenzied Jotaz was trapped behind will be accessible, and behind it will be a Force Essence. These collectibles can be XP boosts, Force upgrades, or Health bonuses. The reward that players receive for killing Frenzied Jotaz is a Health bonus, which sees Cal meditate for an increase in maximum health.
