Star Wars Jedi: Survivor follows Cal Kestis on his quest to find a safe-haven for those hunted and persecuted by the Empire. While progressing through the main story, players will be required to win several challenging boss battles, but none are as difficult as the battles fought against the Legendary Bosses scattered throughout the galaxy.

The thirteen Legendary Bosses in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor are optional enemies that Cal can encounter after reaching certain points in the story. They usually look like revamped versions of other enemies, but they are much harder to beat. The Vile Bilemaw is no exception, but players will first need to find its lair before they can confront and defeat it.

How To Start The Defeat The Vile Bilemaw Rumor In Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Cal speaks to Mosey in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

The Defeat the Vile Bilemaw Rumor in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor can be started by speaking to Mosey in Pyloon's Saloon, but only during and after Cal's third visit to Koboh, after he has completed the story sequence on Jedha.

Mosey will explain to Cal that the Vile Bilemaw can be found deep within the mountains, prompting the Jedi Knight to seek the beast out and confront it.

Upon accepting the Defeat the Vile Bilemaw Rumor in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Cal must travel to the Fogged Expanse to locate the beast's domain. Players who have yet to visit this region of Koboh should exit through the front entrance of Pyloon's Saloon, turn right, and travel up the red ramp leading away from Rambler's Reach. Traveling through the Foothill Falls and then through the Mountain Ascent, Cal will enter the Fogged Expanse.

From the Fogged Expanse Meditation Point, Cal should head straight and proceed through the tunnel full of Bramliks while hugging the wall on the right. Turning right at the intersection in the next area, he must then proceed past or defeat the Mogu standing in the way.

At the end of this area, Cal can grapple to the wall overlooking the abyss below, leap to the wall behind it, and use the vines on the cliff face to climb up.

Turning right and jumping to the slide below the edge will drop Cal into the Vile Bilemaw's lair, but those hoping to save the game before beginning the battle should turn their attention toward the large steel door on the left, which can be opened with Force Pull. Another Mogu will attack once this door has been opened, but players can feel free to ignore it if they wish to preserve Cal's health for the battle against the Vile Bilemaw.

Moving past the Mogu, Cal must leap to the vines overhead to climb to the platform on the opposite side. Here, a shortcut to the Fogged Expanse Meditation Point can be created by interacting with the nearby zipline. If Cal needs to restock his Stims, now is the time for him to do so.

Turning left, players will see a small platform connected to the area where they opened the large steel door. Instead of jumping to it, Cal should drop down to rock right below the edge and leap onto the ground below to slide into the Vile Bilemaw's domain. Upon landing in this area, the creature will attack.

How To Beat The Vile Bilemaw in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Cal fights the Vile Bilemaw in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

The Vile Bilemaw may look like a regular Bilemaw, but some of its attacks are completely different. This, combined with the beast's defensive exterior and habit of charging, makes the Vile Bilemaw one of the most dangerous Legendary Bosses in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.

The Vile Bilemaw's Moveset:

If players manage to familiarize themselves with the beast's moveset and learn how to punish its attacks, the battle can be won with relative ease. That said, learning how the Vile Bilemaw fights can be challenging, as it has multiple tricks up its hardened sleeves.

  • Whenever the Vile Bilemaw begins charging and starts to glow red, it is preparing to close the distance between itself and Cal to attack. Precision evading this move is a great way to stagger the beast and leave it open to an attack or two, but if players feel they cannot precision evade in time, they should dodge away.
  • The Vile Bilemaw can repeat this attack two more times if Cal was unable to precision evade it initially, so players should try their best to take advantage of it by evading.
  • Like other Bilemaws, the Vile Bilemaw will attempt to roll Cal over whenever he is standing at the beast's side. This move can be avoided by dodging away or by using Force Push to stagger the beast mid-roll.
  • This beast also has a habit of spraying acid. To avoid getting struck by any, Cal should flee whenever the Vile Bilemaw lowers its head and begins to shake.
  • The Vile Bilemaw will also spit Bramliks at Cal from time to time. If players are quick enough, they can use Force Pull to catch a Bramlik and throw it back at the Vile Bilemaw to do some easy damage.
  • The most unpredictable attack the Vile Bilmaw has sees it attempting to bite Cal. This attack features two quick chomps that can both be parried if the player is fast enough.
  • The Vile Bilemaw will also attempt to sit on Cal if the brave Jedi happens to be standing behind it. To avoid getting hit by this attack, Cal should dodge away the moment the Bilemaw begins to glow red.
Cal finds the elevator in the Fogged Expanse in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Once the Vile Bilemaw has been defeated, Cal can obtain the Fortitude Perk by interacting with the nearby Force Essence. To leave the area, Cal can then proceed through the small cave in the corner to find and stand on an elevator, which will transport him to the area with the now-opened steel door.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is now available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
