Dead Island 2 often oscillates between visceral, gory action and comedic zaniness with surprising and refreshing frequency. While there’s plenty of dramatics to be found in Dead Island 2, the humor is often on full display, and in no place is that more apparent than in the game’s side quests.
Upon beating the game, players can stumble upon the Drunk and Disorderly Lost and Found quest, which will see the slayer floundering through HELL-A, tracking down a group of misbegotten drunkards who may have access to an exciting weapon. The quest itself can be a bit of a maze to navigate, but the reward at the end--as well as the silly clues that lead to it--makes it worthwhile.
Drunk and Disorderly
To access the quest, players must first find themselves in the mall area just below the Serling Hotel. At the bottom of the staircase that leads up to the hotel entrance, players may now notice that the once-closed door is mysteriously open. Inside, a gruesome scene can be uncovered. Upon picking up the dead drunk’s note, the quest for Drunk and Disorderly can be tracked. Now, it's time to track down the other drunks in the entourage.
Using the clue, the slayer will now need to head to Venice Beach. There are two places to journey to here. The first is the tattoo shop located at the end of the road on the way to the beach itself. Inside, players will be forced to duke it out with a rambunctious screamer. Upon defeating this enemy, the next clue can be picked up from the remains. This clue will lead to the second Venice Beach location.
Head down the road towards the marijuana store. Outside this location is the zombie in question. Defeating Cole will allow access to the third clue.
It’s time to fast travel again. Head back to the Blue Crab and venture to the Pier. The location in question is located on the pier itself. On one of the tables, the fourth clue will be sitting idle. Investigating it will reveal that the final location is back on Ocean Avenue. But before heading there, be sure to grab the keys from Jordan, the last of the drunk ruffians.
Jordan has become a unique, fire-breathing slobber, but defeating him will allow access to his keys. If the player is melee focused, be sure to move continually around him to avoid the onslaught of his fire breath. Otherwise, shoot him from a distance. At this point, it is fair to assume that the slayer has conquered more than their fair share of slobbers.
Once the keys and all the clues have been collected, it is time to fast travel back to Ocean Avenue. The quickest way to the parking garage is to head to the bottom of the staircase where the player first accessed this quest. Instead of heading through the door on the right, head through the one that is directly adjacent to the hotel staircase. Go through this doorway, down the stairs, and continue along the path until reaching the garage.
The car in question is the white SUV to the northwest. The keys will open the trunk, but they will also trigger the alarm. Claim the prize and use it to defeat any enemies that come running due to the noise.
Dead Island 2 is now available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
