After substantial delays and numerous developer changes over a 10-year span, Dead Island 2 has finally launched. Despite the upheaval and issues surrounding its development, Dead Island 2 has proven to be a big hit for Deep Silver, selling over a million copies in the first three days of being available. While there are no shortage of zombie games available, it's likely that many players found the game's humorous and less serious tone to be part of the charm and appeal.

Regardless, Dead Island 2 offers players a unique take of a zombified version of Los Angeles, a large open world to explore with plenty of secrets and rewards to find for straying off the beaten path. Exploration should be a key element for any player as they'll come across hidden items like various keys that unlock numerous rewards including the hard hitting Raven rifle with dealing with a Zombified Mailman.

How to Complete Jo's Rainy Day Stash Lost and Found Quest

Once players get to Venice Beach by progressing through the main Dead Island 2 campaign, they can get access to this Lost and Found side mission. While exploring the area, players will likely stumble across a couple of rental shops called "Jo's Rentals" which features a shark statue out in front. Players will need to break some windows to enter and on the left side, which is the smaller of the two locations, players can pick up a Journal called "Jo's Secret Stash." Take note that simply smashing the windows will result in an alarm going off, so players should look for a yellow panel above the door, and break it using a thrown weapon or gunshot.

As expected, this is a multipart quest, detailing the story of a man named Jo and their attempt to flee LA before it was too late. Alongside the journal to the right is the Jo's Staff Room Key, so make sure to grab that.

Next, head east along the boardwalk to the larger Jo's Rentals shop known as Jo’s Surf & Skate Rentals to find a smartphone and the journal entry "Jo's Beloved Baby" detailing a red pickup truck. Southeast of the Blue Crab Grill is a parking lot where the red pickup is parked, and approaching it triggers a fight against a unique enemy called Jo's Shambling Body. Also keep an eye out for other enemies joining the fight including a crusher and runners, which may make this fight a bit chaotic.

Once the zombies have been dealt with, Dead Island 2 players can loot Jo's phone, which holds the final journal entry called "Jo's Final Farewell." Reading it puts a treasure chest icon on the map for players to find. However, players simply need to head east from the Blue Crab Grill to Marla’s Tapas and Tacos. Look for a stack of pallets in the parking lot, which can be used to access the rooftop with two zombies waiting behind a chained fence. Deal with them to find the big storage chest in the back. Players should also watch out for a tripwire trap, which ignites the entire area. Players can toss something at the left side of the trap to set it off and deal with the enemies inside.

With the stash opened, players will finish the quest, gain 2,000XP, and earn the superior rarity (purple) melee weapon called the Primed Crowbar. Classified as a maiming weapon, the crowbar comes with the Primed perk, which boosts the recharge rate of the player's active curveball item after killing zombies.

Dead Island 2 is now available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
