Dead Island 2 is a zombie-slaying video game with a perfect blend of dark humor and gore setup. Missing: Shane is an optional lost and found quest in Dead Island 2, in which players have to look for Shane, a lifeguard who mysteriously disappears on Venice Beach. To find Shane, gamers need to go to Venice Beach, kill zombies, and collect the clues that will lead to him.

Look for a Missing Poster
Take down the missing poster from the noticeboard in Sterling Hotel to begin the quest. This poster will give the first clue: Shane was last seen at Lifeguard Hut #17.
Go to Venice Beach and Search Hut #17
Head towards Venice Beach, and following the red quest marker, look for Hut #17. It will be surrounded by zombies; fight them and gain entry into the Hut. Search and look for Offer a Lifetime Journal in Hut # 17, which asks players to go to Hut#18. And yes, make sure to cut the power to the generator.
Make your Way to Hut #18 and Kill Nell
The players will encounter a ton of zombies surrounding Hut #18. One of these zombies will be Nell, a former lifeguard who directed Shane to come to Hut #18. Kill her and acquire the From Whom the Nell Tolls journal she drops. The note indicates that Shane went to the Headquarters of Lifeguards, so that's the next destination.
Follow the Clues and Move to Lifeguard Headquarters
To get to the headquarters, first travel to The Pier and start tracing trails of Shane towards HQ. Next, players will need to go to the exit of the building at the southwest. A herd of zombies will be waiting outside the HQ, but players only need to beat TJ Lifeguard.
Defeat TJ Lifeguard and Acquire the Last Journal Clue
TJ Lifeguard is an Inferno Crusher Zombie who can be found in the garage. He doesn’t require any special skill to be killed; any weapon of choice will do the deed. Once he’s dead, collect the last of the clues from his dead body; Journal of Barbara or Bust.
This note reveals that Shane has already escaped from the zombies and is on his way to Santa Barbara, which concludes the Missing: Shane quest in Dead Island 2.
