One of the many things that Dead Island 2 has in spades, surprisingly, is doors. Of course the game has an abundance of zombies, weapons, and loot to grab, but there are also a ton of doors to get through or find keys for. Sometimes it's a lockbox, other times it's literally just storage bin by the pool, regardless of what it is they all need keys to open that players will primarily find from looting specific zombie corpses. The Police Dept Keycard is one of these items that Dead Island 2 players will need to progress through the Venice Beach Police Department.
They'll need it to complete the Cold Pork Side Quest, the Missing: Laura Quest, and to reach the Secure Storage Room in the back of the precinct. So, let's go over exactly where players can find it.
Start 'Cold Pork' Side Quest
Most players will naturally discover the Police Dept. Keycard just by progressing through Trent's Side Quest, Cold Pork. However, this isn't 'required' to find the key as players can explore the Police Department at any time and find it, they just won't be able to access the Secure Storage or the Officer Lockbox inside.
Go To Venice Beach Police Department
To find the key, players need to actually go to the Police Department. Head towards the beach and it should be clearly visible in the large area to the right of Muscle Beach and to the left of the Military Compound. Get up close and players will likely encounter a variety of police officer zombies as well as some Bursters, either ignore these or take them out and then head into the entrance on the right side of the building.
Break The Electrical Boxes To Open The Maglock
The first obstacle in the way are these two Electrical Boxes connected to the Front Office Mag Lock. Thankfully, all players need to do is follow the color-coded wires stemming from the Mag Lock to find these boxes. The first one is on the other side of the front desk window to the right, and players can use a Thrown Weapon, Gun, or Curveball to pop this one. The second Electrical Box is in the restroom to the right of the Mag Lock, and after a brief zombie jumpscare players will find it just behind the door to the restroom. Break both of these and the door should automatically open.
Grab The Keycard From The Front Office
Head through the, now open, Mag Lock door and go into the Front Office through the doorway to the left (the two doors on the right are locked Jail Cells). In the office, players simply need to turn to their right (AKA the back end of the office) and they should see the Police Dept. Keycard just sitting on a shelf underneath the corkboard.
Take it and go pop open the door leading to the back half of the Police Department building.
