Pokemon Scarlet & Violet's Team Star base battles can be done in any order the player wishes. However, there is an ideal path to follow for trainers that want to stick to battling all five Bases in order of difficulty. For those that are attempting to get to the Poison Crew base as part of the Starfall Street story path and beat Atticus, this guide is here to help.

How to Get to the Poison Crew Base

Atticus' Poison Crew base is in the northeast section of the Paldea region, in an area called Tagtree Thicket. It's just north of Zapapico, where players can get the item to evolve Charcadet, and west of East Province (Area Three).

Updated on December 7, 2022, by Greysun Morales: Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players will need to fight the five Team Star bosses in order to complete the Starfall Street path and see the end of the game. However, after beating the game, the Team Star bosses can be battled again, but this time with a much stronger team of monsters. This Atticus boss guide has been updated to include information on his post-game rematch team and how players can easily take it down.

Before heading inside the base, make sure to have the appropriate team for the fight against Atticus. His team is all Poison-types, so players should try to have some Pokemon with Ground or Psychic-type moves, as that's what Poison types are weak to. Also, players should be careful using Grass or Fairy-type Pokemon, as they both take heavy damage from Poison-type attacks.

Battle With Youssef

Before players enter the base to start the Star Barrage, they'll need to defeat a trainer named Youssef, who is protecting the leader, Atticus, from potential harm. He has a level 30 Gulpin and level 31 Shroodle.

Both Pokemon are Poison-type, so a strong Psychic/Ground-type move should be good enough to take them down.

Poison Crew Star Barrage

Once the gate is open, the Star Barrage will start. Players will need to run around the camp and defeat at least 30 Pokemon under a 10-minute time limit. To defeat the trainers' Pokemon, use the R button to send out your own critters.

Three Pokemon can be out at one time, so just keep defeating Pokemon until the challenge is over. If players need to heal their team, they can interact with one of the vending machines in the area or speak to Clive by the front gate.

Here's a list of some of the Pokemon that will appear during the Poison Crew's Star Barrage:

  • Ghastly (Ghost/Poison)
  • Grafaiai (Poison/Normal)
  • Foongus (Grass/Poison)
  • Amoonguss (Grass/Poison)
  • Gulpin (Poison)
  • Swalot (Poison)
  • Venonat (Bug/Poison)
  • Seviper (Poison)
  • Paldean Wooper (Ground/Poison)

How to Beat Atticus of the Poison Crew

Atticus' team of Poison-type Pokemon do not play around. So if players have their team around the early 30s in terms of levels, they should definitely make sure to have a Pokemon that has powerful Psychic/Ground-type moves. Without them, this battle can be pretty tough, especially if the players' team starts to get poisoned by moves like Toxic, Sludge, and Sludge Wave.

Here's the entire Pokemon lineup for Atticus:

Rewards for Defeating Atticus and the Poison Crew Base

Upon defeat, Atticus will give Pokemon Scarlet & Violet players his Star Badge and the TM for Gunk Shot. The move is a Poison-type that deals 120 base damage. It also has a chance to leave the target poisoned, which causes damage every turn.

If this is the second base that players have taken down, they should get 6000 LP (League Points) once they finally leave the camp.

How to Beat Atticus' Rematch Team (Post-Game)

Once players beat the other storylines and get to the post-game of Scarlet and Violet, the Team Star bosses can be battled once a day, but they'll have a stronger team this time around, except they won't have any of their Starmobiles.

Atticus' rematch team consists of Skuntank, Muk, Dragalge, Toxapex, and Revavroom. Luckily, like his regular team, they all have at least one part Poison in their typing. Make sure to bring along some Pokemon with powerful Ground/Psychic-type moves to get the upper hand over this Team Star boss.
