However, the means of getting a Slither Wing can be confusing without proper instruction. This guide will help Pokemon Scarlet & Violet players find and capture Slither Wing.

How To Find Slither Wing

Finding a Slither Wing is actually much easier than some are led to believe. After defeating the final boss of the main story, Area Zero, the location in which Paradox Pokemon are found, will now be available to explore. There are four levels of the area for players to explore, and Slither Wing can be found right on the first level when players first enter Area Zero.

To make things easier, players can also teleport themselves from the start gate to Research Station No.1, where Slither Wing typically spawn more frequently. Now that a Slither Wing has been found, it's time to discuss how to properly fight and capture it.

How To Capture Slither Wing

Unlike a normal Volcarona, which is Fire/Bug, the ancient Slither Wing is instead a Bug and Fighting-type Pokemon. Therefore, its new weaknesses are Fire, Flying, Psychic, and Fairy-type moves. Slither Wing doesn't particularly stand out like its mechanical counterpart, Iron Moth does, but it's still an all around powerful Pokemon. That said, there are a few methods to try while capturing it.

First and foremost, the player should use Pokemon mainly resistant to Fighting-type attacks, such as either a Flying or Fairy-type Pokemon, as Slither Wing specialize in bombarding the player with Close Combat attacks. Then, use one of the above-mentioned types to whittle down its health towards the red zone.

Paradox Pokemon are naturally harder to catch than normal Pokemon are, so the player should stock up on Ultra Balls ahead of time before entering Area Zero. Finally, using status effect moves like Thunder Wave or Hypnosis to either put Slither Wing to sleep or paralyze it will be of great benefit to the player. Any Pokemon affected by a status effect will have its capture chance increase dramatically. With a few Ultra Balls, Slither Wing should be caught with little to no issue.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available for the Nintendo Switch.
