Ditto has always been a Pokemon that players would have to catch sooner or later if they intended to start Pokemon breeding. In Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, this still hasn't changed, and Ditto is just as important as ever. Of course, gamers will want to catch it to complete their Pokedex, but breeding is usually the main reason why players want to have a Ditto of their own.

This guide focuses on Ditto's locations in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, and it'll teach players how to best identify them in the wild since they spawn disguised as other Pokemon.

When hunting down a specific Pokemon, the best chance to catch them quickly is to find out where they spawn on the map and then head there with a decent amount of Poke Balls. In the Paldea region, Ditto can only be found in West Providence Area Two and West Providence Area Three.

An alternative to finding Ditto in the wild is to try to find one in a Tera Raid battle by interacting with glowing Tera crystals around the map or using the Tera Raid Battles section in the Poke Portal.

How To Catch Ditto In The Wild

When encountered in the wild, Ditto will physically appear differently. Ditto doesn't look like Ditto in the overworld; this is due to its transform ability that allows it to disguise itself as other Pokemon in the nearby area. Thankfully, there is a trick that will definitely help gamers find and catch a Ditto without having to resort to chance.

Ditto hunting is all about being observant. All Pokemon follow their species' behavioral patterns, and this is key when it comes to finding an imposter among a group. Ditto are laid-back little fellows, and they don't behave aggressively or frightfully.

So, if the player is in a location where Ditto tends to spawn and they walk past a Pokemon that normally would try to attack them or run away from them, but instead it doesn't, it's most likely a Ditto.

When there's a suspicion that a Pokemon might be a Ditto in disguise, that's the right time to attack them and start a battle to catch them. If it's not a Ditto, simply run away and try again; it's not a guarantee that it'll be a Ditto, but it certainly does increase the chances of finding one.

Does Ditto Evolve?

Unfortunately, the transforming creature does not evolve into any other Pokemon.
