The Electric/Steel magnet Pokemon, Magnemite, has two evolutions: Magneton and Magnezone. However, the Gen 1 Pokemon didn't always have two evolutions. Magnezone was introduced in Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum (the fourth generation of Pokemon) as a brand-new form for the Magnemite line.

For Pokemon Scarlet & Violet players hoping to complete the Pokedex and see all the Pokemon in Paldea, this guide will go over where to catch Magnemite and how to evolve it into Magneton and Magnezone.

Where to Find Magnemite

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet players can find Magnemite floating around East Province Area Two and East Province Area Three. This is the area to the west of Levincia, where the Electric-type Gym Leader, Iono, resides. There are many different places where Magnemite can be found throughout these two areas, but we had the most luck finding them near the river to the west of the Levincia South Pokemon Center fast-travel spot. The spot can be seen on the map below where the orange marker is placed.

How Do You Evolve Magnemite into Magneton?

For those looking to upgrade their Magnemite's strength by evolving it into a Magneton, they'll need to train it until it hits Level 30. Players can either keep the Magnemite in the party so that it gains EXP from Pokemon battles, or they can be given EXP Candy, which is obtained by beating Tera Raids.

How to Evolve Magneton into Magnezone

And finally, to evolve Magneton into Magnezone, players will need to get their hands on a Thunder Stone. These can be obtained by defeating Pokemon in Tera Raid battles and can be found on the floor as loot, but the easiest way to get one is to just buy one from the Delibird Presents store on the north side of Levincia.

The evolution stones at the shop cost 3000 Poke Dollars each. If players are short on cash, they should try and get the Amulet Coin item, which increases the prize money from Trainer battles.

This store also has Fire Stones, Leaf Stones, Water Stones, and other evolution-related items, like the Sweet Apple, which is used to evolve Applin into Appletun.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available for the Nintendo Switch.
