In Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, a returning Pokemon to the series is the Gothita line of evolutions. These gothic-style Pokemon are pure Psychic types with decent stats and would be worth catching, even if only to complete the Pokedex. Despite their middling stats, this line of Pokemon can be quite rare, appearing in only two small spots in the entire game, depending on which evolution players are looking for. So if players are having difficulty encountering these Pokemon, here is what they can do to catch the Gothita family.
Gothita Location
Gothita can be found in only one small place in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. This place is in the East province, just around and outside the town of Zapapico. If players take some time to wander around the area, being mindful to stay close to the town as Gothita only appears in proximity to it, players will eventually run into this rare psychic type Pokémon.
Despite its rarity, Gothita is not difficult to catch. Players should bring a Quickball and a Pokémon that knows False Swipe as a backup. Players should try to catch Gothita as soon as the battle starts using the Quickball. If that fails, players should bring out their false swiping Pokémon and catch the psychic type that way.
Gothorita and Gothitelle Location
Gothorita can also be found in a small area of the map, though it is just as rare as its earlier evolution. Gothorita is found near Alfornada, the location on the southwest portion of the Paldea region, where players can battle the psychic-type gym leader, Tulip.
In the fields around the outskirts of the town, players can encounter Gothorita and, more rarely, Gothitelle. To find them, players should begin a similar process to Gothita, walking around while remaining somewhat close to the southwestern edge of the cliff by Alfornada until they find their Pokémon. Players should use a similar method of capture here as well, bringing Quickballs and a Pokémon with false swipe as a backup.
Evolving Gothita and Gothorita
To evolve these Pokemon, players will need to level Gothita to level 32 for it to turn into a Gothorita. Players can use any method to achieve these levels, including battle or items that grant EXP to Pokemon. To evolve Gothorita, it is much the same. Players can level their Gothorita to level 41, and it will achieve its final evolution of Gothitelle, again through any means that grants EXP to Pokemon.
