In Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, several pseudo-legendaries from previous games have made their return and are waiting to be caught by players. A fan-made category, pseudo-legendaries are powerful Pokemon that players would benefit from collecting for their team, with the Dragon-type Goomy family being available in the Paldea Region. But once players have caught themselves a cute little slug dragon, they may find themselves having difficulties in evolving it in its final stages. Here is how players can evolve their Goomy into a Sligoo and then finally a powerful Goodra they can use to combat their rivals.

Where To Find A Goomy

Goomy

To find a Goomy in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, players simply need to head to any area of the Paldean region that has large numbers of ponds or is considered by the game to be wetlands. One of the best places for this is in the southeast of the region, in the South Province (Area Five) section of the map. Once here, players can find Goomy by heading to the section of the map just north of the Pokemon Center that is covered in marsh and ponds.

How To Evolve Goomy & Sliggoo Into Goodra

South Province Area 5

Once Goomy has been captured, it's just a matter of leveling it to level 40 to evolve it into Sliggoo. However, evolving a Sliggoo into a Goodra has an extra step players will need to take in acquiring this Pokemon’s final evolution. In order to evolve a Sliggoo into a Goodra, the first thing players will have to do is level their Sliggoo up to level 50.

Sliggo

But in order for the pseudo-legendary to evolve when it reaches level 50, the weather in-game has to be raining. This rain has to come from the in-game environment and, unfortunately, will not trigger through fighting and leveling during a battle where one Pokemon used the Rain Dance move. This means that players will have to wait until it begins to rain in-game, and unfortunately, there is no way to influence the weather in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. Luckily, the weather shifts often, so players should not have to wait long for rain in order to obtain their mighty Goodra.

Goodra Rain

Since the weather in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet's Paldea region can be random, it can be difficult to sync up the time of the rain to when Sliggoo is about to evolve using battles. Players should keep some Exp Candies on them for when it starts to rain and then feed their Sliggoo enough to evolve into a Goodra. Exp Candies can be found in the Tera Raids present throughout the region.
