Skiddo (and its evolution, Gogoat) comes from the sixth generation of the mainline Pokemon series, which kicked off with Pokemon X and Y for the Nintendo 3DS. The Grass-type mount Pokemon line returns in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's Paldea region. Players can use this guide to learn how to catch a Skiddo and how to evolve it into Gogoat.
Where to Find Skiddo in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
Skiddo can be found all over the west, south, and eastern parts of the Paldea region, as seen in the Pokedex image below. Some of the locations include the Asado Desert, South Province Area One, East Province Area 3, and so on; however, we managed to find a group of Skiddo on a ledge overlooking a river in South Province Area 4, south of Cortondo. Cortondo is home to the Bug-type Gym Leader, Katy.
The Skiddo that we encountered was at level 18, so players should have no issue catching the Pokemon with a simple Great Ball or Poke Ball. After the Skiddo is obtained, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players can train it to evolve into Gogoat.
What Level Does Skiddo Evolve?
In order to evolve Skiddo into Gogoat, trainers must raise its level to 32. This can be done in various ways, but the quickest method is to go into the menu and feed Skiddo some EXP Candy.
A couple of these should shoot up its level all the way to 32 to initiate the evolution. To get more, try looking on the map for the Tera Raid crystals -- challenging the terastallized Pokemon to a Raid battle (and defeating them) will earn folks loads of goodies, including EXP Candy.
Of course, players can raise Skiddo the good old-fashioned way by having it in the party and gaining XP from trainer/Pokemon battles, but this will take some time unless players are battling against high-leveled trainers or wild Pokemon.
When using Skiddo and Gogoat in battle, players should make sure to take advantage of their Sap Sipper ability, which raises the attack of Skiddo and Gogoat whenever they get attacked by a Grass-type move. They also take no damage from Grass-type moves in general. They also have Grass Pelt as a hidden ability, which increases the user's defense by 50% when battling on grass or if Grassy Terrain is being used.
