There are more ways than ever to evolve Pokemon, and that may leave Pokemon Scarlet & Violet players confused over the way to evolve Steenee. Thankfully, turning this Pokemon into a Tsareena isn’t particularly difficult.

Bounsweet has flown under the radar in some regards, but it evolves into the queenly Pokemon Tsareena, which is a great grass-type option for the story mode and beyond. Pokemon Scarlet & Violet players would be well-served in adding this Pokemon to their team, but it’s easy to miss out on evolving Steenee.

Thankfully, fixing this is a short process and players will be able to add Tsareena to their Pokedex and move closer to completion. Here is how to evolve Steenee and what Tsareena brings to the table.

How to Catch Bounsweet

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet players can catch Bounsweet in a handful of locations in southern and eastern Paldea. Bounsweet can be caught in South Province Areas One and Two, and East Province Areas One and Two.

While this might sound easy to work with, Bounsweet doesn’t enjoy the vast habitats of Pokemon like Shellder, which can be found in every part of the sea surrounding Paldea. Bounsweet typically hangs around in forests and can potentially be found in trees. Here is the Pokemon’s habitat page in the Pokedex:

Evolving Bounsweet into Steenee isn’t a difficult process. Players simply need to raise the Pokemon to level 18 in order to get a Steenee. Alternatively, Steenee can be caught in East Province Areas One and Two:

How to Evolve Steenee in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

Steenee evolves into Tsareena after leveling up while knowing the move Stomp. Steenee learns Stomp by leveling up to level 28. This is the same process used to evolve Dunsparce into Dudunsparce.

Players might not think much of the move Stomp, as it’s been around since generation one as a relatively underwhelming offensive option. It thematically fits for Tsraeena however, as she is a Pokemon that is all about kicking. Steenee learns Stomp at level 28 and if players opt out of learning it, they can remember it at any time through the Pokemon’s status page.

Is Tsareena a Good Pokemon?

Tsareena is a great Pokemon for the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet story mode, and is situationally viable in five and six-star Tera Raid battles and ranked trainer battles. The Pokemon has generally solid stats, highlighted by a strong attack stat.

Pokemon Anime Tsareena

Tsareena inhabits a unique space in trainer battles thanks to her Queenly Majesty ability. This disables opponents’ priority moves like Quick Attack, and also prevents Prankster Pokemon like Grimmsnarl and Murkrow from using prioritized moves on Tsareena or her allies.

The one area where Tsareena falters is with her moveset. Tsareena lost the move Triple Axel, which was one of her best options in Pokemon Sword & Shield. Still, the combination of Trop Kick, High Jump Kick, Play Rough, and U-Turn can do a lot of work.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet are available now on Nintendo Switch.
