While many fan-favorite Gen 8 Pokemon were excluded from Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, Chewtle and Drednaw managed to make the cut. Known as the Snapping Pokemon and the Bite Pokemon respectively, these two turtle-based Pokemon make a great addition to any team.

As far as stats go, Drednaw is a strong Pokemon in terms of Attack, Defense, and HP. It has a very strong typing in Water/Rock, making it resistant to Normal-, Flying-, Poison-, Fire-, and Ice-type moves. For players looking to add Drednaw to their team, here's how to find it in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet.

As its Pokedex entry states, Chewtle is most often found in and around bodies of water in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, though rarely in beach areas. Many of the areas in which Chewtle can be found are accessible very early in game, so players can get their hands on a great Water/Rock-type in the beginning of their journey. Chewtle can be found in the following locations:

  • South Province (area one)
  • South Province (area two)
  • South Province (area three)
  • South Province (area four)
  • Poco Path

How To Evolve Chewtle in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

To evolve a Chewtle into its final form, Drednaw, players must get the Snapping Pokemon to Level 22. This shouldn't be difficult, as EXP Share cannot be turned off in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. Players can also use Rare Candies to bulk up Chewtle to Level 22, but keeping Chewtle in the party while auto-battling, in Gym Battles, or Trainer Battles will have the same effect.

A fully-evolved Drednaw can be slightly more difficult to find than a Chewtle, though not significantly. Drednaw is a fantastic Water/Rock-type, and they can be found in the following locations:

  • South Province (Area One)
  • South Province (Area Six)
  • South Province (Area Four)
