Introduced in the last generation of Pokémon with Pokémon Sword & Shield, the Dreepy line of Pokémon quickly cemented itself as strong Pokémon with a solid place in both regular gameplay and competitive gameplay. Not only is it well-designed and pretty powerful, but it now also reappears in the brand new Pokémon Scarlet & Violet - though technically, it can only be found in-game without trading in Pokémon Violet.

Dreepy's middle evolution, Drakloak, is just as popular and as powerful as its smaller counterpart. To learn where to find Dreepy's evolution, Drakloak, as well as how to evolve it into its final form, Dragapult, be sure to read on.

Where To Find Drakloak In Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Drakloak - and the other members of its evolutionary line, Dreepy and Dragapult - can be found throughout Scarlet & Violet's Paldea region, though Pokémon Scarlet players will have to trade with Pokémon Violet players, as Dreepy and its evolutionary line are Pokémon Violet exclusives.

Drakloak in particular can be found with their smaller Dreepy counterparts throughout each Area of Paldea - from Area One to Area Five - as well as Tagtree Thicket, the Asado Desert, Casseroya Lake, Glaseado Mountain, and the South Paldean Sea. In general, they tend to lurk around bodies of water and in caves. If players are lucky, though, they might even find them spawning around the caverns of Area Zero.

Of course, despite how prevalent they are throughout each area of Paldea, that doesn't mean they'll be easy to find or catch. Players should be well-prepared to find Drakloak at high levels no matter how early they come across them, and regular Pokeballs likely won't be strong enough to hold them. As such, it may be easier to catch them after the player makes it at least part-way through the game.

How To Evolve Drakloak Into Dragapult

Once players have their hands on a Drakloak, evolving their Drakloak into a Dragapult is relatively easy. While it doesn't require many of the special tricks certain newer-generation Pokémon use to evolve, it won't evolve until it hits a fairly hefty level 60.

There are a few ways for players to evolve their Drakloak faster. Using Rare Candies and EXP Candies will certainly help, but it will likely require a huge amount of resources that players would likely have to grind for. Players could look into using their Drakloak in the daily Mass Outbreaks that appear around Paldea in Scarlet & Violet - each K.O. ends in EXP for your entire party, and the Pokémon used to battle gains a little bit extra. Ultimately, though, the easiest way to grind out levels for Drakloak is likely the most tried-and-tested way: battling.

There are plenty of wild Pokémon to battle and grind against, and even if players are in the late game, it's likely that there will still be trainers hidden in some surprising spots that might have been missed the first time around. For early-game players, taking the usual route of battling Gym Leaders, Team Star, and the Titan Pokémon will likely be enough to get Drakloak to level 60. Once Drakloak reaches level 60, it should evolve immediately.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available now for Nintendo Switch.
