Though they aren’t officially part of the Paldean Pokedex, Galarian starters Scorbunny, Raboot, and Cinderace are all available now in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. The evolutionary line joins fellow fire starter Charizard in the game as an event import.

There are over 1,000 Pokemon across all nine generations, but less than 500 available in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet at this point. That number looks set to increase over time, however. Game Freak is using timed events to add in new Pokemon that didn’t make the cut on the game’s original release.

That started with the Mightiest Mark Charizard Tera Raid event. It was followed a month later by a similar event for Cinderace. Players don’t have to just be content with Cinderace, though. They can actually get their hands on the full evolution line for the Pokemon.

How to Get Cinderace in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

Players can get a Cinderace through the Mightiest Mark Cinderace Tera Raid event. The event runs across two weekends, from December 30, 2022, to January 1, 2023, then again on January 13, 2023, to January 15, 2023. Players can only catch one Cinderace across the two weekends.

Mightiest Mark Tera Raid events are designed to be particularly difficult, and the Cinderace raid is a strong demonstration of that. Cinderace regularly spams the move Bulk Up, which can quickly max out its attack and defense stats. The build is unique and challenging, encouraging the use of either stat-boosting moves or a dedicated support party member.

After catching the Cinderace, players are able to breed it with other Pokemon. This allows players to get the lower forms of Cinderace.

How to Get Scorbunny and Raboot

Players can get Scorbunny and Raboot in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet by breeding Cinderace with another Pokemon. As is the case with breeding any Pokemon, the quickest and easiest way to do this is by breeding it with a Ditto.

Breeding a male or female Cinderace with a Ditto will result in eggs that will hatch into a Scorbunny. From there, players can evolve Scorbunny to Raboot at level 16.

Can You Trade For Scorbunny and Cinderace?

Though Cinderace is an event Pokemon, players have been able to receive Pokemon from its evolutionary line via Surprise Trade. This was the case even as the event unfolded.

The Mightiest Mark Cinderace event is a huge challenge that effectively requires a level 100 Pokemon with optimized stats. Those who couldn’t beat Pokemon Scarlet & Violet before the event’s start can look for someone willing to give one up or cross their fingers and try to get one via Surprise Trade.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet are available now on Nintendo Switch.
