Pokemon Scarlet & Violet introduce many new Pokemon into the world of pocket monsters, and one of those new creatures is named Bramblin. This tumbleweed Pokemon is a Ghost/Grass-type Pokemon, and it can evolve into a second form called Brambleghast.

However, it's safe to say that Bramblin's evolution method in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is pretty unconventional. Instead of leveling up Bramblin, players will need to utilize one of the new features introduced in Scarlet and Violet, the Let's Go! mechanic.

Where to Catch Bramblin

For players that would like to add a Bramblin to their team (or needs to catch it for the Pokedex), it's pretty easy to find. It's not as common as a Lechonk or a Fletchling, but it can be found in the Asado Desert and in East Province's Area Three. The Asado desert is on the west side of Paldea's crater, and East Province Area Three is northeast of the crater. Bramblin are easy to see, as they just roll around on the sand like an actual tumbleweed would in real life.

How to Evolve Bramblin into Brambleghast

To evolve Bramblin in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, it needs to walk with trainers for at least 1000 steps while using Let's Go mode. For those that don't know what the Let's Go mode is, players can press the R button to throw the first Pokemon in their party onto the field.

When it's out of its Poke Ball, it'll attack other Pokemon and can potentially defeat them quickly to earn materials and XP. However, if it tries to fight a Pokemon that has an advantage in its typing/level, it'll lose health and retreat from the battle.

Basically, to evolve Bramblin, put it in the front of the party and try to have it walk with the trainer as much as possible. If players get on top of their Ride Pokemon and start speeding away, Bramblin will get back into its Poke Ball, so it might be best to stick to walking around slowly until 1000 steps are reached.

Brambleghast can learn some pretty powerful Ghost/Grass-type moves like Giga Drain at level 40 and Phantom Force at 35.

There's no way to know when 1000 steps have been taken, but if players feel that they've reached the milestone, they need to train Bramblin one level (either by battling or using EXP/Rare Candies). Once it levels up once after taking 1000 steps, it'll finally evolve into Brambleghast.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet are available for the Nintendo Switch.
