For players who have been seeking to complete their Pokédex, or simply to add a new, powerful Pokémon to their team, Frigibax can be very difficult to obtain. Trouble is, Frigibax is extremely rare to find, having very few locations where it appears in game.

And even when you are in one of the locations it appears, it can still take hours or days to find. But, like all Pokémon that are difficult to find, there are a few things players can do to add this shy little dragon to their team. Even more, players can also learn how to evolve the Pokemon.

Why the Frigibax Family?

Baxcalibur Pokedex-1

Frigibax and its evolutions, Arctibax and Baxcalibur, are a new evolutionary line of Pokémon added in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. They are incredibly elusive Dragon and Ice type Pokémon with high enough stats to qualify it for the fan-made category of pseudo-legendary. While it has more weaknesses due to the addition of Ice to its typing, it removes its weakness to Ice, making it a solid choice of a Pokemon if players expect to be going up against any Ice type trainers.

Where to Get Frigibax Without Movement Abilities

The first thing players can do is to ride Koraidon or Miraidon to the region of the Paldean map called Glaseado Mountain. Once there, players can simply move around as much of the zone as they can, looking for their desired Frigibax as they go. Players should be checking the map regularly with the Y button in order to see new Pokémon placed on the map that they can look for. Continue to do this for long enough, and players will find a Frigibax eventually, though it is extremely rare.

Dalizapa Passage

Players can also to head to the region of the map titled Dalizapa Passage, located just south of the Glasedo Mountain region. When players arrive, they will see a deep crater in the ground, with a Pokémon Center at the bottom of it. Using Koraidon or Miraidon, players can jump to the bottom of the crater and search for the icy dragon down there. These methods will take some time given the rare-to-find nature of the little critter, by they are reliable methods to acquire Frigibax if players do not yet have a lot of movement abilities for their Koraidon or Miraidon.

Glaseado Mountain Peak

The second method players could utilize if they have acquired some of the movements of Koraidon and Midridon, namely the vertical climbing and gliding abilities, would be to head to the location in Glaseado Mountain titled Paldea’s Highes Peak. The peak is a flight location that can be activated by climbing the mountain and is just to the northeast from Glaseado Gym where players can take on Grusha.

Glaseado Mountain River

From there, players can walk or glide north to find a river that flows through the icy mountain. Staying on the east bank of the river, players should head north until they see a glowing Pokémon wandering in a little valley off of the east bank of the river.

Glowing Frigibax

Upon getting closer to this Pokémon, people will find a wild Frigibax that will Terastallize at the beginning of the battle. This Frigibax will respawn every day, and is the most reliable way for players to find a Frigibax.

Evolving Frigibax

Luckily, evolving Frigibax is quite easy, if slow in its own way. Being a Dragon type, Figibax takes a while to evolve, but does not require any hidden methods or tricks to evolve it into its final stages. All players have to do is level their Frigibax to level 38 to evolve it into Arctibax, and then again to level 54 to evolve it into Baxcalibur.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet is available now for the Nintendo Switch.
