Shiny hunting with sandwiches is very popular in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. Shiny status isn’t the only aesthetic difference that Pokemon fans care about, though. What ball a Pokemon was caught in also makes a difference with many players, with the standard Poke Ball being a fashion faux pas according to some.
Rare types of Poke Ball like the Heavy Ball and the Love Ball can be paired with specific Pokemon for some visual or thematic flair. For a long while, players could only get one of these Poke Balls with each playthrough but in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, players actually have the ability to farm them through auctions.
Porto Marinada Auctions Give Players Infinite Apricorn Ball Access
Pokemon Scarlet & Violet players can get an infinite number of Apricorn Balls through Porto Marinada auctions. The auctions have a chance of offering action on some rare types of Poke Balls.
The Porto Marinada auction house has three lots each in-game day, as determined by the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet day/night cycle. The lots include a variety of items including healing items, berries for resetting EVs, and almost every type of Poke Ball in the game. The list of balls that are available at the auction house stands as follows:
- Poke Ball
- Great Ball
- Ultra Ball
- Heal Ball
- Net Ball
- Nest Ball
- Repeat Ball
- Dive Ball
- Luxury Ball
- Dusk Ball
- Timer Ball
- Premier Ball
- Fast Ball
- Level Ball
- Lure Ball
- Heavy Ball
- Friend Ball
- Dream Ball
- Moon Ball
Though most of these are available at Pokemon Center shops, items like Fast Balls and the Level Ball have typically been extremely rare. In most recent generations, they’ve only been available once per save file.
Apricorn Balls are among the most expensive items that appear in the auction house, with prices starting at $100,000. Prices will typically sail well past $200,000 so players will want to familiarize themselves with the best way to farm money in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet.
Though Apricorn Balls do not appear in the Porto Marinada auctions frequently, they have a chance of appearing each in-game day. Players can also use a few different tricks to reset the auction house selection until they find a desirable item.
How to Reset Porto Marinada Auction House
Players can change what items are available in the auction house by changing the Nintendo Switch’s clock. While the auction lots technically reset every 72 minutes with the change of the in-game day, the fastest way to get a new set of items is to change the in-game clock. If players close out of the game, move the clock, and then log back in, it will result in a new set of items being available.
There is another option for those who don’t want to change their in-game clock that is even faster. If players save in the auction house, close out of their game, wait some time, and then reopen their game, it will reset the auction house.
If players don’t see a good item, just close out of the game and re-open it before saving again. The new lots will not be recorded in the game, allowing players to get a new set each time they return to the game. Once a desirable item is found, simply save and start bidding. This is the fastest way to reliably find Apricorn Balls for farming.
