The Paldean Pokedex has 400 entries, and players will spend a lot of time traveling across the region, fighting Legendaries, and trading with others to grab them all. Usually, players would spend their time capturing the Pokemon they're interested in and then use selective breeding to help them gain the appropriate stats and Egg Moves to create the ultimate team. But with so many Pokemon and the Egg Power boosts from Sandwiches, players can amass an army of hatched Pokemon faster than ever.
Those that are looking to get a specific Egg Move from a certain Pokemon won't have to spend all their time breeding and hoping. Instead, they can use a fancy new item to immediately pass down the move to another creature, making it much easier to curate their ultimate team. Here's how players can find the Mirror Herb in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet and what exactly it does.
Where To Find The Mirror Herb In Pokemon Scarlet & Violet
Thankfully, the Mirror Herb isn't that difficult to find, but it may be out of reach for players that are just starting the game thanks to its hefty price tag. To grab the Mirror Herb, players will need to head to the Delibird Presents store that's found in Cascarrafa City. This particular city is home to the Water-type Gym Leader, Kofu, and is located in West Province (Area One) just East of the Asado Desert.
The Delibird Presents store in question is in the Northwestern corner of the city itself. It's the only Delibird Presents store that sells the Mirror Herb, and players won't be able to find it at other locations. The Mirror Herb costs 30,000 Poke Dollars, so players will need to do a bit of grinding if they want to snag the item as early as possible. Thankfully, finding and grabbing the Amulet Coin can make this process easier. Players should also be sure to pick up any sparkling objects or Pokeballs they see while exploring, as they will sometimes contain valuables that can be sold for a high price.
What Does The Mirror Herb Do?
The Mirror Herb is a holdable item that can be given to a Pokemon and has an effect both in and out of battle. In battle, a Pokemon that is holding a Mirror Herb will (one time per battle) match an opponent's stat boost.
This is particularly useful when going up against opponents that use a lot of buffs, as players have the potential to match one of the buffs for themselves. But the Mirror Herb has a much better use outside of battle, as it can be given to a Pokemon to help it receive a particular Egg Move.
To make this work, players first need to have a Pokemon with the desired Egg Move they wish to pass on. They'll want to place that Pokemon in their party and also find a Pokemon that they want to *receive* that Egg Move. This Pokemon needs to hold the Mirror Herb, and it also needs to have at least one empty move slot to make room for the new Egg Move.
It's important to note that the Pokemon receiving the Egg Move and the Pokemon passing it on must be in the same Egg Group. Once players have given the Mirror Herb to the receiving Pokemon and have both Pokemon in their party, they simply need to start a Picnic and wait a few moments.
After a short time, players can exit the Picnic and check the Status of the receiving Pokemon. If all worked, the Pokemon should now have the Egg Move that players wanted to pass down.
