Stats work the same way as ever in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. That means players will need to do some farming in order to get perfect EVs for stats like Sp. Attack.
There are plenty of Pokemon that can be farmed, and the option is out there to simply use copious amounts of vitamins. The thrifty and old-school Pokemon Scarlet & Violet players will likely still need to do some farming in order to get the optimal stats for their Pokemon. Here are the best places to farm Sp. Attack EVs and which Pokemon to defeat to get them.
How to Farm Sp. Attack EVs
Players can quickly and efficiently farm Sp. Attack EVs by defeating certain species of Pokemon while having their own Pokemon hold the Power Lens item. The Power Lens item offers a guaranteed eight Sp. Attack EVs with each Pokemon the player defeats. It can be purchased at any Delibird Presents location.
It’s not recommended that players simply give Pokemon the item and play normally. While this will result in high EVs for that specific stat, defeating random Pokemon can only have a maximum of 510 EVs. This means that some of that would inevitably be wasted on unusable EVs. To guarantee pure Sp. Attack EV yields, players should defeat Pokemon from these evolutionary lines:

- Magnemite
- Gastly
- Mareep
- Sunkern
- Houndour
- Numel
- Petilil
- Zorua
- Clauncher

Other Pokemon can offer Sp. Attack by defeating them, but there are many evolutionary lines that have spawn together and offer multiple stats. If players want to ensure precise EV yields, players should farm the Pokemon listed above and any evolutions they have.
Best Place to Farm Sp. Attack EVs in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet
The best place to farm Sp. Attack EVs in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet is at the base of Area Zero. If players head to the very bottom of the zone where players complete the final mission, there are a multitude of Pokemon that can be farmed for Sp. Attack EVs.
Pokemon Violet players have it easier here, as Iron Jugulis, Glimmet, and Glimmora all offer pure Sp. Attack yields. The bottom of the Great Crater of Paldea is rife with these Pokemon. While Pokemon Scarlet players will not encounter any Iron Jugulis, there are more than enough Glimmet and Glimmora to farm.
Glimmet, Glimmora, and Iron Jugulis offer one, two, and three Sp. Attack EVs respectively. This is upped to nine, 10, or 11 when combined with a Power Lens. Glimmora allows players to most precisely farm Sp. Attack EVs as Power Lens results in 10 EVs per win, which can then be rounded out by unequipping the item.
