Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet can evolve from a long list of different items, but classics like the Leaf Stone still have their uses. Players can find the item and use it to add a powerful grass-type Pokemon to their team.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet made it much easier to get evolution items. While Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl made stones a precious commodity that could only be farmed in the Grand Underground, Paldea removes the fuss of evolution as players can both buy and find Leaf Stones during their playthrough.

Where to Find Leaf Stones in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

Players can purchase Leaf Stones at Delibird Presents locations, including any of the three in Mesagoza. The item can also be found randomly on the ground in many spots around Paldea.

Players are able to reliably get a Leaf Stone for free, however. Players can head to the Tagtree Thicket near the Team Star Poison Crew base and search the cliffs in this area. A Leaf Stone can be found on the ground near the edge of a small cliff. The exact location on the map can be seen here:

That said, there’s only one Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet that can use the Leaf Stone to evolve. This Pokemon can still be caught in the wild, meaning that players can complete their Pokedex without ever bothering to get a Leaf Stone.

Which Pokemon Evolve with a Leaf Stone?

Seven Pokemon are known to evolve with a Leaf Stone, but only one is in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. The only Pokemon that players can use a Leaf Stone on in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet is Eevee, with the item evolving it into a Leafeon. The full list of Pokemon that have evolved via Leaf Stone includes:

  • Gloom
  • Weepinbell
  • Exeggcute
  • Eevee
  • Nuzleaf
  • Pansage
  • Hisuian Voltorb

The base version of Pokemon Scarlet & Violet only has Eevee among this list. Though Eevee needed to be leveled up in certain locations to become Leafeon in past generations, Pokemon Sword & Shield changed that, so players simply needed to give it a Leaf Stone. Players

Hisuian Voltorb and Electrode, who served as a boss in Pokemon Legends: Arceus, seem to be poised to come to the games at some point.

Alongside other Hisuian Pokemon such as Wyrdeer, Hisuian Voltorb and Electrode are both programmed into the games but are unavailable to be captured. The Pokemon will likely become available in the future via Pokemon HOME transfer, DLC, or in-game event.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet are available now on Nintendo Switch.
