The next major Tera Raid event has been announced, and players will be happy to know that they will soon be able to catch Typhlosion in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. This Pokemon isn't part of the game's Pokedex as isn't found in the Paldea region, but players will have a unique chance to catch it in the upcoming Tera Raid event.

This guide will help gamers get through this tough Pokemon Scarlet & Violet 7-Star Tera Raid battle so they don't miss out on this opportunity to catch this starter Pokemon from the iconic Johto region.

How To Participate In The Typhlosion Tera Raid Event

With the addition of Typhlosion as a Tera Raid boss, players that participated in last month's Samurott and Decidueye's raids will now have caught all evolutions of Pokemon Legends: Arceus's starter Pokemon.

The Typhlosion Tera Raid event will be live from 00:00 UTC on April 14 until 23:59 UTC on April 16 and from 00:00 UTC on April 21 until 23:59 UTC on April 23. This a 7-Star Tera Raid event, so in order to participate, players must have finished the main story of Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, completed all gym rematches and the Academy Ace tournament, and beat at least ten 4-Star Tera Raid battles.

If the player meets all the requirements mentioned above, they'll also have to check the Poke Portal News to update their raid encounters.

How To Catch Typhlosion

The Typhlosion that gamers will encounter during this event is going to have a Ghost Tera-Type. Out of all the Hisuian starters that have appeared in Tera Raid, Typhlosion is the only one to have its Tera-Type match its alternative form.

It's important to take a Pokemon that can deal damage to Ghost Pokemon and protect itself against Fire-Type moves. Gyarados is a great contender to take down Typhlosion. Magikarp are pretty common around the Paldea region; they can be found on nearly every body of water, and they evolve early on - once they get to level 20.

Gyarados is a Water-Type Pokemon, so it will resist any Fire-Type move from Typhlosion, and it's got a pretty decent Special Defense stat. On top of that, it gets access to two powerful Dark-Type moves: Crunch and Dark Pulse. Gamers should definitely teach their Gyarados Crunch for this battle to fully take advantage of its great Attack stat. As long as they spam Crunch when fighting Ghost-Tera Typhlosion, players should be able to beat it and catch it in no time.

Alternatively, gamers that have transferred it from Pokemon Home or caught it during the Greninja Tera Raid event should consider taking Greninja to this battle. Its dual typing will offer defenses to counter the Typhlosion, and it can deal a hefty amount of damage with Dark Pulse and Night Slash.
