Bandai Namco has revealed the first look at the upcoming Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 DLC, which features both the highly anticipated Orange Piccolo and a new raid boss that will be arriving in an upcoming update. Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 has been getting over six years of post-launch support, including a slew of Dragon Ball Super related characters and transformations like Ultra Instinct. The newest additions originate from the most recent theatrical film from the franchise, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero.

This content was first released in late-2022, known as Xenoverse 2’s Hero of Justice Pack Sets, which came in two releases. The first pack featured three characters from the movie, those being Gammas 1 and 2, along with the film’s version of Son Gohan. The second pack was also teased to feature Orange Piccolo as a new character, a brand-new transformation for the Namekian warrior thanks to a power boost from the Dragon Balls. Fans finally got their first look at how Orange Piccolo will fight in-game.

The trailer starts off with introducing the Gammas and Gohan, with a brief showcase of their move sets and abilities. This is followed by the exhibition for Hero of Justice Pack 2, starting with Orange Piccolo’s gameplay. With this transformation giving Piccolo more bulk, his combo strings seem to emphasize that, having more power behind them and getting very up close and personal with his opponent, like Piccolo tossing his opponent to the ground. Orange Piccolo will also have a new super move that can be executed by stomping his opponent within a certain range, which the player can also likely learn for their custom character.

The other exciting thing shown in the trailer was the reveal of a new raid boss that will be coming in a free update to the game. It’s likely not a surprise to fans who saw the movie that this raid boss is the kaiju-sized villain Cell Max to complete the DLC packages. His abilities from the film are represented in harem with him also having his Shin Godzilla-esque lasers that can shoot from his body. The trailer also goes out of its way to point out that this version of Cell will not be a playable character.

This Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 DLC trailer doesn’t have a release window for these additions just yet, only stating that it will be “coming soon.” The second Hero of Justice pack has one more DLC character that has yet to be revealed, though many fans who have seen the movie put together the likely candidate to be Gohan’s new Beast form, which was introduced in the film’s climax.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is available now for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
