Though Rauru's Blessing Shrines don't give players a puzzle to solve inside, there is a surprising amount of variety to this type of Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Shrine. Mayahisik Shrine is one that doesn't have many requirements. It doesn't test players' abilities, nor can it only be unlocked by transporting a green crystal.

Instead, Mayahisik Shrine is revealed to players in one of two ways: a relatively hidden mechanic in Tears of the Kingdom that highlights cave locations, or by continuing the Purah Pad questline at the Hateno Village Research Lab. Either way, once Link has found it, he only needs to walk inside to find the Mayahisik Treasure Chest and Light of Blessing.

Mayahisik Shrine Location

Mayahisik Shrine is found inside Retsam Forest Cave in East Necluda, which is a location hidden from players behind a wall of breakable stone, but there are few things that hint at its existence. It's just below the Hateno Village Research Lab, also called the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab, to the east of Hateno Village. Just outside the Lab's entrance on the hill, players should see a curved ramp leading upward, with sheer drops on each side.

Retsam Forest Cave connects the two sides of this ramp, and is blocked by destroyable rocks at both entrances. Head to the inner side of this ramp, the wall that faces the Lab, and look for these destroyable rocks. Getting into Mayahisik Shrine is as easy as activating it and entering it, but players should either progress Robbie's quest nearby, or complete a hidden feature on a nearby hill to reveal its location and get some nice extra rewards, too.

Mayahisik Shrine is located at (3751, -2035, 0192) within Retsam Forest Cave. To find out this information in-game, players should head to the top of a nearby hill, just to the southwest of Hateno Ancient Research Lab. At coordinates (3356, -2483, 0280), players will see a place to make an offering. Drop an apple here – just like Link did for a Korok seed in Breath of the Wild's version of Kakariko Village.

A Korok doesn't appear, though. Instead, one of the game's most majestic creatures appears out of nowhere and highlights nearby caves for Link. The Satori, which looks like the Lord of the Mountain from Tears of the Kingdom's predecessor, will summon beams of blue light to mark where underground caves can be found.

From the top of the hill, ride Link's paraglider northeast toward Hateno Village Research Lab. On the ramp leading up, players should see two of the Satori lights on either side of the path – head to one of these to find the entrance to Retsam Forest Cave, either side works. Once players make it to Mayahisik Shrine, head inside to find the Shrine chest and a Light of Blessing without any other puzzles to solve.

What's In The Mayahisik Shrine Chest?

Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Mayahisik Shrine Location Treasure Chest Reward Magic Scepter

The Mayahisik Shrine chest contains a Magic Scepter, which is a stronger version of the Magic Rod players can find across Hyrule from Wizrobes and Poe Bargainer statues in the Depths. The Magic Scepter, like the Magic Rod, can be fused to specific Gems to unlock new powers within them. For example, a Magic Rod fused to an Opal shoots out balls of water, while a Magic Rod fused to a Topaz shoots out lightning spheres.

Head to the back of the Shrine to collect its Light of Blessing, then use Ascend just outside to get to Hateno Village Research Lab a little bit faster. Inside, players should talk to Robbie, who asks Link to use his new Sensor module for the Purah Pad to investigate a local cave. Having already done so, Robbie will be impressed by Link, and the Sensor questline will be finished as soon as it's started.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available on the Nintendo Switch.
