Across the Valley, a Stardew Valley-inspired farming simulation game with a unique style is coming for PlayStation VR2 soon. This new title, which will cater to players who want similar games to Stardew Valley, will feature immersive farming activities like raising animals, managing a farm, and even shoveling poop, just like on a real farm.

The new PlayStation VR2 has launched to positive reviews due to its high-resolution display, as well as excellent controller design. However, it still doesn’t have many exclusive games at the moment, offering mostly ports and a few games that other VR devices also have. Created by Fusion Play, Across the Valley is here to start changing that reality.

In the upcoming Stardew Valley-inspired Across the Valley, which will be released on April 6 exclusively for PS VR2, players can take care of their farms in an immersive first-person world. They can expect to perform all the activities that a real farmer would do, such as taking care of animals, planting crops, and even shoveling animal poop.

In the game’s preview video, it’s possible to get a glimpse at life on the farm. Gamers can see some of the available farm animals, which include all the classic ones, like chickens, cows, pigs, and sheep. It’s the expected life on the farm, but with a larger emphasis on interacting with the animals and crops. Not only the player will need to shovel their poop to make the barns clean, but also use their hands to milk cows, shear their sheep, manually pick the crops when they are ripe, etc. Also, it will be possible to customize the player’s house with the profits from the farm. Together with the capabilities of the new Sony VR headset, the idea is to offer unparalleled realism on the PSVR2, not by graphics, but by interaction instead.

Despite many similarities with the fan-favorite Stardew Valley, however, it seems that Across the Valley will be able to stand out on its own as an entertaining game about doing chores. For instance, it doesn’t seem that this new title will have much of a story. It’s more of an immersive simulation that will focus on life on the farm, not interacting with other characters or having constant trips to the town. Players who wished that most farm games were hardcore simulations with fewer characters will probably be pleased by this.

Across the Valley will be released for PS VR2 on April 6.
