Everdream Valley is set to arrive very soon for fans of games like Stardew Valley. The farming simulator will bring every element players are used to from the genre, promising a relaxing and wholesome time, much like Stardew Valley.

Everdream Valley was originally announced in March of this year and it doesn't stray far from its inspiration. But despite the expected similarities, Everdream Valley does its best to set itself apart by adding new mechanics to its gameplay.

In Everdream Valley the player will experience strange dreams every night in which they become an animal. Each animal corresponds with a different mini-game that yields either a unique reward or will have a special effect on the farm the next day. Everdream Valley also offers 13 different breeds of dogs players will be able to choose from. Beyond that, all the usual elements of a farming simulator will be present with an old farm that needs fixing up, recipes to cook, and furniture to build beyond many other activities to get lost in. Fans of cozy games won't have to wait to start their adventures for too long either, as Everdream Valley is expected to release on May 30 for PC, PS4, and PS5, with a Nintendo Switch version coming at an undetermined point in June.

It's worth mentioning that before Stardew Valley became the gaming sensation it is today, it took inspiration from the game all farming simulators originate from. The blueprint for most cozy games was Harvest Moon, which first introduced audiences to farming simulators and the idea of cozy games. When it comes to the graphics, Everdream Valley does seem to take more after Harvest Moon than Stardew Valley.

What all these games have in common is cozy, slow-paced gameplay, offering a sandbox environment to get lost in after a busy day in the real world. It makes Everdream Valley and its counterparts very desirable in a hectic urban environment. Those who want to get their hands on the game sooner can also pre-purchase Everdream Valley on Steam for 2-day early access as well as other exclusive in-game extras.

Everdream Valley will release on May 30 on PC, PS4, and PS5, and in June for Switch.
