Hogwarts Legacy's spells range from dark wizard curses to light-inducing Lumos, with most focused on combat or revealing clues or collectibles using the over-pressed Revelio. In many ways, Hogwarts Legacy has a variety of spells, including some from the Harry Potter movies. However, the franchise has a huge range of spells, with many unexplored in the game.

Some Harry Potter spells could create some exciting new features in a potential Hogwarts Legacy sequel. These could include different types of magical elemental abilities, new ways to traverse the huge open world map, and new ways to battle different types of enemies, whether players choose to play a good pathway or explore a Hogwarts Legacy dark wizard build. There are so many spells to choose from in a sequel spell wishlist, but some would likely work better than others alongside its existingspell loadout system and mechanics.

9 Aguamenti - Water Spell

Hogwarts Legacy Magical Watering Can

Aguamenti is a Harry Potter charm that summons water, so could be used as a different kind of elemental spell for different functions in a sequel, whether for solving puzzles or battling enemies. It could potentially fill a cup in an Indiana-Jones-style magical puzzle or as Professor Dumbledore drinks from the potion of despair in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

In combat, Aguamenti could inflict a wave or tornado of water against an opponent as the opposite of Hogwarts Legacy's fire spells like Incendio and NPC fire tornado spells. It could be handy as plant care in the Room of Requirement or for powering magical watering cans.

8 Aparacium – A Spell To Reveal Secret Messages

Hogwarts Legacy Revelio

Many Hogwarts Legacy players enjoy spamming the Revelio spell button to reveal collectibles like chests and clues about what to do next. The Aparacium spell unveils hidden messages, so it could give players a bit more variety when looking for secrets in the world.

Players could use Aparacium to discover hidden messages on mystical parchments like the infamous Maurauder's Map or even on writing on walls. As a magical school, students probably still do things like write hidden messages, and it could be a fun way of discovering hidden and mysterious information in the game world.

7 Reducto – A Spell For Mass Destruction

hogwarts legacy ashwinder assassin Reducto

Even the most basic spell in Hogwarts Legacy causes objects like vases to break, so a spell like Reducto that smashes things to pieces isn't exactly groundbreaking. It's probably one of the reasons why the game's NPCs can use it, but players can't. However, Reducto could be one of Hogwarts Legacy's most overpowered spells.

In a sequel, Reducto could cause a much larger wave of destruction or be used against larger objects over simple pots and boxes, like when Ginny casts it in the Department of Mysteries in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

6 Glisseo – A Staircase Slide Spell

Players can use Hogwarts Legacy's fast travel floo-flame mechanics to get around Hogwarts Castle. However, the staircase sliding spell Glisseo could be a fun and silly way to get around its many staircase areas quickly by transforming staircases into giant slides, similar to Peeves sliding down the banisters.

Glisseo could also save players from a significant fall by giving them a magical soft landing or helping them quickly escape. Although perhaps not a strictly necessary spell, sometimes silly interactions often provide the most novel experience, like trying the different sweet effects at Honeydukes.

5 Tarantallegra – The Dancing Feet Spell

A fun way to catch enemies off guard while also leading to the fun side of magic is the Tarantallegra spell. It's a dancing spell that causes uncontrolled dancing in a target when aimed at the legs. It could be a hilarious way of distracting enemies during combat, giving players a small opportunity to attack while its effects wear off, similar to the cursed cannonballs in Sea of Thieves that turn players into temporary toe-tapping pirates.

Hogwarts Legacy includes dancing ghosts and other references to dancing in Hogsmeade, so it could be a fun trick to play against enemies or other students.

4 Serpensortia - Snake Casting Spell

Harry Potter Ways Neville Longbottom Could Be The Perfect Chosen One Neville vs Nagini the final Horcrux

Slytherin players or those who choose to create a dark wizard build could enjoy casting Sepensortia, a spell players see Draco Malfoy cast in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets when dueling against Harry. Serpensortia launches a magical live snake at an opponent, so could be a handy temporary battle assistant and alternative to using combat plant tools like mandrake.

Serpensortia could also reflect the Slytherin lock puzzles found in the creepy passageways that lead to Salazar Slytherin's secret Scriptorium in Hogwarts Legacy's Shadow of the Study quest, which inflicts a small amount of damage on the player if not completed fast enough.

3 Riddikulus Spell

The Riddikulus spell seen on-screen in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban looks like Hogwarts Legacy's arachnophobia mode. It makes spiders in the game less scary by putting roller skates on their feet, similar to the spider with skates that appears when Ron casts Riddikulus in the movie.

Casting Riddikulus would depend upon whether Boggarts appear in the game. However, a similar, disempowering spell could take chunks off enemies' health while making them look hilariously ridiculous for a fun twist on spell-casting in a sequel.

2 Confundo – The Confusion Spell

Hogwarts Legacy Imperio

Another spell to stop enemies in their tracks during combat could be Confundo, a spell that confuses Another spell to stop enemies in their tracks during combat could be Confundo, a spell that confuses enemies. It could temporarily confuse enemies, so they attack each other rather than the player, causing chaos on the wizarding battlefield as a fun way to get the upper hand in fighting large groups without using dark curses like Imperio.

Also known as the Confundus Charm, Confundo could be intermixed with stealth mechanics, helping players to trick or sneak past enemies without relying upon invisibility or using Petrificus Totalus.

1 Expecto Patronum (Patronus Charm)

Dementors floating in Hogwarts: Legacy

Perhaps the most desirable spell of all for a Hogwarts Legacy sequel is the Patronus charm. A Harry Potter Patronus charm could be a fantastic way for players to conjure a personalized Patronus animal, from stags to rabbits. Players could also potentially have the option to link their Patronus to their Wizarding World account as another potential immersive character customization option in a potential Hogwarts Legacy sequel.

However, the ability to cast Expecto Patronum would warrant Dementors as NPC enemies to battle in, for example, an extended Azkaban quest.

Hogwarts Legacy is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, with a Switch version releasing November 14.
