Hogwarts Legacy features many fantastic magical creatures, including some from the Harry Potter movies and others brand new to the franchise. However, there is always room for more in any potential Hogwarts Legacy sequel, especially as most of the creatures and magical beings players fight are mainly spiders and goblins.

A Hogwarts Legacy sequel could introduce players to different types of magical creatures that are either friends or foes to expand the range of beast and enemy encounters across the vast open-world RPG map. Some beasts might work better for the game than others, and undoubtedly many more on some players' wishlists.

10 Werewolves

Although players can find a set of werewolf tapestries and a familiar werewolf statue in Hogwarts Legacy's werewolf tapestry room, werewolves don't feature in the game elsewhere beyond NPC Animagi. It could be memorable to encounter friendly or aggressive werewolf NPCs, as often misunderstood beings with potentially engaging and mysterious individual backstories.

The Forbidden Forest could be an ideal place for werewolves to appear. However, they are intriguing characters that could appear virtually anywhere, especially as NPCs hiding in plain sight as a species often shunned by wizard society.

9 Boggart

The game makes a few brief references to the elusive Boggart in the side quest to help Mr. Moon find all of Hogwarts Legacy's Demiguise statues and uncover the identity of his tormentor. Players also see a glimpse of the infamous Boggart wardrobe in one of the game's ending cut scenes.

Although Harry Potter lore indicates a Boggart's true form is never revealed because of its non-being shapeshifting capabilities, it could be interesting if players could find out more. It could also allow players to try out a new kind of Defence Against the Dark Arts class.

8 Basilisk

Although supposedly one Hogwarts Legacy player spotted a Basilisk from the Chamber of Secrets, they aren't present in the game, and sadly, players don't get to visit the Chamber. However, there's no reason why giant serpents like the Basilisk couldn't appear elsewhere as typically bred by dark wizards.

The vast size of the snake-like creature could make for a spectacular, rare boss battle encounter, potentially in a secret cave area of the world map. Basilisks are known to live hundreds of years in lore, so could fit into Hogwarts Legacy's timeline.

7 Cornish Pixies

One of Hogwarts Legacy's Cragcroftshire field guide pages introduces the Giant Shade tree as home to magical creatures like Bowtruckles, fairies, and Augureys. However, apart from rarely encountered dragons, Hogwarts Legacy doesn't include any airborne enemies for players to contend with, like fairies or otherwise. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets' mischievous Cornish Pixies could provide players with a different type of pesky NPC enemy.

Cornish Pixies would also give players another use for the Glacius spell, which is similar to the Immobulus spell Hermione casts to stop the critters in the movie.

6 Pets Like Owls, Cats, Rats, And Toads

In Hogwarts Legacy, players can pet the cats wandering the grounds, and owls swoop everywhere. However, players don't have any magical pets beyond the post owl sitting in their choice of the common room and which they can't pet. It would be amazing to have a choice of classic pets from the Harry Potter franchise, like cats, owls, rats, and toads.

Pet customization tools or pet care options similar to the vivariums in the Room of Requirement could also give players more things to do.

5 Merpeople

In Hogwarts Legacy's Mer-ky depths quest players search around the Black Lake for a gift left by the merpeople for Nerida Roberts. There is also a mermaid-like mural on the wall of the prefect's bathroom. It's clear that merpeople are present in the Black Lake at the time when Hogwarts Legacy is set, but players don't get to see any or explore the watery depths of the Lake.

It could be an exciting expansion to the lore if players got the chance to meet and interact with the merpeople in a Hogwarts Legacy DLC, whether above or below the surface of the Lake or even through the Slytherin common room windows.

4 Kelpie

If Hogwarts Legacy ever introduces underwater content, riding a kelpie could be a breathtaking and unusual Hogwarts Legacy mount. The kelpie looks like an underwater horse that can change its form according to the lore, making for some potentially fascinating and beautiful variants.

In Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, Newt Scamander rides a kelpie in an underwater vivarium-style tank showing a magnificently fast, seaweed-like seahorse creature that's also capable of jumping out of the water and potentially, a wonderfully magical addition to Hogwarts Legacy.

3 Swooping Evil

Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them's Swooping Evil magical beast looks like a cross between a butterfly and a lizard. It saves Newt and Tina using its marvelous wings as a flying creature that could make for that could also shake up the variety of NPC enemies in the game.

Swooping Evil could also link with Hogwarts Legacy's missed opportunity with butterfly chests to add more variety to such collectible activities in a potential sequel or even as a different kind of boss battle encounter.

2 More Dragons

Hogwarts Legacy Dragon

Hogwarts Legacy does feature a few dragons during the final boss battle with Ranrok and in the side quest with Poppy Sweeting called 'Poached Egg'. In any potential sequel, it would be great to see even more species of dragons, such as those like the Hungarian Horntail or Chinese Fireball from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

More dragons could also give players the opportunity for even more cute beast encounters with baby dragons if players get to see baby dragons hatch, similar to the adorable Golden Snidgets seen in the 'A Bird in the Hand' side quest.

1 Dementors

Dementors floating in Hogwarts: Legacy

In Hogwarts Legacy, players get to visit Azkaban if they choose the Hufflepuff House, where they see Dementors and the Patronus charm in a cut scene. It would be amazing to experience closer encounters with Dementors in a sequel as a dark, non-being creature, especially if players get to cast the Expecto Patronum spell or explore more of Azkaban.

There is also potential to explore Dementors more in a dark wizard pathway or build, so it's possible, albeit rare, they could appear in other scenarios beyond Azkaban. For the Patronus charm alone, they could be top of the magical creature wish list for many Hogwarts Legacy fans.

Hogwarts Legacy is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, with a Switch version releasing November 14.
