A player of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom decided to take part in some Korok torture and created a makeshift "Korok kebab" for all to see. When their work was done, the player posted a video of the Korok kebab in action on social media, and other Tears of the Kingdom players both complimented them and expressed concern for their mental health.

Given that Tears of the Kingdom is the sequel to 2017's Breath of the Wild, it was no surprise that the Koroks would make their return alongside the infamous collection of Korok Seeds. Given that the rewards for collecting every seed are the same across both entries, this left players feeling disappointed, despite the Korok Seeds being necessary for expanding Link's weapon inventory. However, thanks to Link's new Ultrahand and Autobuild abilities in Tears of the Kingdom, players could exact a degree of cathartic vengeance upon the Koroks. Though the Koroks themselves cannot be permanently killed, that has not stopped players from building egregious gadgets of all kinds.

On Reddit, a user named wanderXV created the aforementioned Korok kebab device and shared their work on the r/tearsofthekingdom subreddit in a 16-second video. Similar to other torture devices intended for the Koroks that can be made in Tears of the Kingdom, the Korok kebab was crafted using some nearby wood and some Zonai devices that wanderXV had in their inventory. In this scenario, the morbid machine used a big wheel attached to two wooden beams to act as a rotisserie system, with four campfires placed beneath to roast five Koroks during the device's rotations. The device was activated by shooting an arrow at the big wheel, which was attached to a motor and further reinforced with wood and Zonai devices on one side. This was done less for looks and more to keep the entire thing from coming apart.

The Korok kebab video earned wanderXV over 700 upvotes on the r/tearsofthekingdom subreddit within two days. In the comments, players complimented wanderXV on a job well done, with some adding that they got a laugh out of the video. However, other users pondered if the Tears of the Kingdom players that created and shared such macabre contraptions as crucifixes and kebabs were mentally stable.

Nevertheless, Tears of the Kingdom players have demonstrated that ingenuity and spite are powerful motivators, as proven by some of the wacky wonders they have created so far. It remains to be seen what other devices players will come up with next in their unyielding efforts to exact pain and suffering on the Koroks.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available now for Nintendo Switch.
