As gamers continued to wait for more news about Marvel's Spider-Man 2, one fan shared a terrifying concept from the Batman: Arkham series of games that would make Venom a more intimidating foe for both Peter Parker and Miles Morales to face in the upcoming title. The fan then shared their idea on social media, and other fans saw it as a great idea to put into Marvel's Spider-Man 2 while adding their own concepts on top of it.
Traditionally, the Venom symbiote has been among one of Spider-Man's most formidable foes, especially when latched to its most-notorious host, Eddie Brock. Though Venom has both fought against and alongside the Web-Slinger in different games, the powers that the symbiote has access to include some of Spider-Man's kit as well as complete immunity to the Spider-Sense. At the time of writing, it is not clear what powers the notorious symbiote will have in Marvel's Spider-Man 2. But, knowing that Venom is traditionally undetectable by the Spider-Sense, one gamer saw to amplify that potential possibility while drawing inspiration from another series altogether.
On Reddit, a user named Jax2856 made a post on the r/SpiderManPS4 subreddit that was originally taken from Twitter user EARTH_1610_606, both of which compared Venom to Man-Bat from Batman: Arkham Knight. In the 2015 entry of Rocksteady's Batman: Arkham series, both Man-Bat and The Joker would occasionally jumpscare Batman while he was gliding around Gotham City. In the scenario posted on Reddit via Twitter, Venom's immunity to the Spider-Sense would give him an extra advantage to ambush Spider-Man as he swings around New York City. Though, given the Venom symbiote's weaknesses to fire and sound, Spider-Man would likely be safe in areas such as clock towers or places with easily flammable materials.
The post from Jax2856 received over 2.6k upvotes on the r/SpiderManPS4 subreddit in a span of four days. In the comments section, other users suggested that Venom could potentially jumpscare both Peter Parker and Miles Morales from the sewers, similar to Goro Majima from the Yakuza series, and taunt them menacingly. While others speculated as to how Venom would fit into the plot of the game overall, and whether he would latch onto Peter Parker at some point, only time will tell how the story will pan out in Marvel's Spider-Man 2 later this year.
Though Marvel's Spider-Man 2 has yet to officially confirm a release date, fans waiting for more information are looking forward to the upcoming PlayStation Showcase with great interest. Whether the Web-Slinger will make an appearance during the presentation or not remains to be seen.
