A new Pokemon Scarlet and Violet update will be released next week, which will bring bug fixes and coincide with the release of a long-awaited feature to the games. The news arrived amid a busy month for Nintendo fans, between having a plethora of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Tera raid battles to pick from, and the long-awaited release of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom to take up their time.

Leading up to the release of the next Pokemon Scarlet and Violet update, trainers will have two tough raid battles to face in the meantime. Between a 7-star Tera raid against Chesnaught the Unrivaled, and two 5-star raids against Iron Treads and Great Tusk, Pokemon trainers seeking a challenge will have their fill this weekend.

According to Serebii.net, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's next update will bring a fix to some issues, much like the version 1.3.0 update, that adversely affected some aspects of the game. In this case, a bug affected the Japanese and Korean Qualifiers for their Pokemon National Championships, and the Pokemon World Championships overall. The bug prevented players from viewing rankings, quickly requesting rematches with the same opponents, and being able to exit out of the menu in between battles. However, the fix should arrive before a repeat of these Qualifier Tournaments begins next week, starting on May 28.

However, the timing of this update lines up with another feature arriving next week, as the long-awaited Pokemon Scarlet and Violet update for Pokemon Home arrives on May 24. With the update, Pokemon that were previously unavailable in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet that were available in previous generations will make their way to the Paldea region, with some exceptions. In addition, certain Pokemon from the past that can be caught in Paldea, such as Pikachu and Eevee, can be sent to games such as Pokemon Sword and Shield, provided that they only have moves and abilities that were available to them in the past. In addition, trainers that link their Pokemon Scarlet and Violet save files to Pokemon Home once both updates arrive will receive a Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxley with their respective Hidden Abilities.

The arrival of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet compatibility to Pokemon Home should provide quite a shake-up to the competitive scene, as Pokemon such as Hisuian Zoroark and Ursaluna from Pokemon Legends: Arceus will arrive in Paldea in the coming days. Between that and the upcoming DLC later this year, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players will soon have no shortage of additions to their rosters.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available now for Nintendo Switch.
