A Spider-Man fan shared an interesting theory about the origin of the symbiotes in Marvel's Spider-Man 2, a new game from Insomniac that is currently in development. Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is the long-awaited sequel to the 2018 title and comes after the success of the first game and its spin-off Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

After becoming one of the most acclaimed games of 2018, Insomniac announced the sequel to Marvel's Spider-Man back in 2021, leaving fans quite happy and excited about the game. In Spider-Man 2 players see Peter Parker along with his protege Miles Morales returning to New York City, where the duo will work to protect the city. There is no shortage of threats putting the citizens at risk, including some characters fans will be familiar with. One of them is the villain Kraven the Hunter, one of the most famous antagonists in Spider-Man's Rogue Gallery. Meanwhile, Harry Osborn is on the verge of death, and Venom is on the scene again.

Twitter user @KhalidBrooks1 posted on his profile a theory that the symbiote from Spider-Man 2 may have been brought to Earth. @KhalidBrooks1 points out that Miles Morales at the science museum confirms that Oscorp went into space and had space crafts, and this way the symbiote could have come to Earth. The symbiote was one of the highlights of the most recent Marvel's Spider-Man 2 trailer presented at the PlayStation Showcase. In addition to the appearance of fan-favorite Venom in the game, Insomniac used the new trailer to showcase Peter Parker using his new powers of the symbiote suit, also known as the Black Suit in Spider-Man comics.

Insomniac has been pretty quiet about the details of Spider-Man 2, so fans are scanning the new footage for all sorts of information. Spider-Man 2 already has some differences from its predecessor, such as the ability to switch between Peter Parker and Miles Morales, giving the game a different spin. In addition to the chaos caused by Kraven and Parker appearing in the symbiote suit, the new trailer for Spider-Man 2 introduced a New York that will be a good bit larger and gave a preview of Miles' new abilities.

Marvel's Spider-Man was created by Insomniac to be "an authentic Spider-Man adventure." The game combined nostalgia, references and characters from the Spider-Man universe, and current technology to create an exciting game. As such, it is understandable that gamers are extremely hyped for Marvel's Spider-Man 2's release.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 releases in Fall 2023 on PlayStation 5.
