The video game market is currently saturated with a wide array of competitive multiplayer games. Long-running PVP franchises like Call of Duty, DOTA 2, Battlefield, and League of Legends see thousands of players fighting against one another each day, while Battle Royale releases like Fortnite, Apex Legends, and PUBG continue to shake up the competitive multiplayer space.

Many of these franchises and titles feature cross-play in the modern age, allowing players to battle against one another regardless of their platform of choice. That said, those that prefer to aim and interact with a mouse may find themselves at a disadvantage in some situations against those that use a controller. Thankfully, there are some great gaming peripherals on the market for players that want to perform at the highest level possible when competing against other gamers, regardless of the genre.

The DeathAdder V3 is Razer's latest esports-centric mouse, featuring an ultra-lightweight ergonomic design and a sleek no-nonsense outer shell that promises performance and speed in lieu of flashy RGB add-ons. At first glance, this mouse seems inconspicuously plain, and it would be easy to dismiss it as "any other brand." Instead of Razer's iconic green triad-style logo, the company instead opted for an all-black, durable outer shell and a painted logo that is easy to overlook thanks to its similar color scheme. This is likely to keep the mouse as lightweight as possible, giving players supreme maneuverability in any game.

Razer also chose to completely split the left and right-click buttons, giving them a much better click tactility over their old semi-split design. The dual side buttons remain unchanged compared to older models and the "grip pad" on the left side of the mouse is absent in the DeathAdder V3, dropping the weight even further and giving players a truly smooth and ergonomic casing. Although the wireless version can offer a truly untethered experience, Razer's special Speedflex cable makes the wired version feel practically weightless by reducing the drag thanks to its woven, durable cable.

In its entirety, the newest V3 weighs only 59 grams, making it one of the lightest gaming mice currently available on the market. In fact, the Razer DeathAdder V3 is so lightweight that when we first took it out of the box, it seemed like nothing was inside the shell. Those unfamiliar with Razer's track record in performance products might mistake this device for "just another cheap computer mouse." Thankfully, that's definitely not the case and Razer went above and beyond with this model to ensure it was as lightweight as possible without sacrificing any of its performance, speed, and accuracy.

The DeathAdder V3 is loaded with the Razer Focus Pro 30k Optical Sensor, which it touts as the "World's Most Precise Optical Sensor," thanks to its 30,000 DPI and 99.8 percent resolution accuracy. It also features Generation 3 Razer Optical Switches, which the company promises will last approximately 90 million clicks. Pair these perks with a lightning-fast 0.2ms actuation time and a Speedflex cable that boasts a 1/8th of a millisecond input delay, and it's easy to see why the DeathAdder V3 is such a valuable tool for Esports enthusiasts.

We spent approximately two weeks with the DeathAdder V3 and noticed a significant performance upgrade compared to some of the other gaming mice we tested. Although the lightweight shell can take some getting used to, the mouse feels supremely comfortable to use and is incredibly accurate in FPS, MOBA, and MMORPGs. The ergonomic design didn't cramp our hands and the mouse strikes a good balance between medium and large, making it easy to grip without feeling unwieldy.
