Apple TV Plus just dropped a teaser for the upcoming series Shrinking, which features Jason Segel and Harrison Ford as Dr. Phil Rhodes.

Apple TV Plus' Shrinking is the latest in a recent spate of shows about psychiatrists, among them The Shrink Next Door and The Patient. However, this one takes itself not so seriously, as it’s from Ted Lasso creator Bill Lawrence, Ted Lasso star Brett Goldstein, and How I Met Your Mother star Segel.

Shrinking, named for the slang term used for a psychiatrist, a “head shrinker,” is a new series with a premise that sees Ford's Dr. Rhodes taking a page out of the old slogan from the MTV series, The Real World: “When people stop being polite…and start getting real.” After a series of setbacks in his own life resulting in severe grief, the good doctor stops being so nice to his patients and starts telling them how he truly feels about their troubles. They, in turn, use this brash new advice to affect the various outcomes of their own lives and for everyone involved, and hijinks ensue.

The ten-episode series, produced by Warner Bros. Television under the aegis of Lawrence's own Doozer Productions, let its teaser open with a middle closeup of the cast of the series jumping up and down on a trampoline, arms held at their sides, while Kid Cudi's "Pursuit of Happiness" backs them. It opens with Segel giving one of his typically worried faces before cutting to Jessica Williams, then onto Lukita Maxwell, Christa Miller, Michael Urie, and Luke Tennie. The title card appears: "Sometimes you have to break down."

The actors all jump again, arms at their sides as before, the song still playing, Segel's face growing more worried before another title card drops: "To have a breakthrough." Afterwards, the cast jumps again, but they all have expressions of joy and happiness on their faces. The Shrinking teaser ends with Segel, no longer jumping but standing still on the trampoline, which has sunk under his weight, as Ford walks past him, scowling his typical Ford scowl. Ford grunts once as he goes by before the camera closes in on Segel's face and lays down the title of the series.

Shrinking is set to drop its first two episodes on January 27, 2023.
