Numerous GTA fans have recently taken to social media to list Red Dead Redemption 2 features that they want Rockstar to implement in Grand Theft Auto 6. Several such discussions gained online traction shortly after Take-Two added to the hype surrounding the upcoming game, asserting that Rockstar is aiming for "nothing short of perfection" with GTA 6.

Since the next installment in the GTA franchise will be Rockstar's first original AAA game since Red Dead Redemption 2, there's a widespread expectation that the two titles will have plenty of similarities. And while some fans are currently theorizing how GTA 6's rumored setting basically confirms a long-time Read Dead Redemption 2 theory, others have focused on brainstorming RDR2-inspired wishlists for the next GTA game.

One such particularly elaborate feature request was recently authored by Reddit user Snoo_61724, who said they're hoping that Rockstar will bring back the facial hair growth mechanics from RDR2 in GTA 6. The fan even took the effort to illustrate their idea by editing over a dozen high-resolution character models from artist Hossein Diba, which were themselves inspired by the massive GTA 6 gameplay leak from September 2022.

Shortly thereafter, Reddit user Notmmn created a compilation of some particularly grisly Red Dead Redemption 2 screenshots showcasing the game's physics engine in all its gory glory, stating that they hope GTA 6 will allow for similarly detailed enemy mutilations. Whether that actually ends up being the case is dubious, not least because the GTA series has historically been somewhat less graphic in its depictions of violence compared to the Red Dead Redemption games.

A potentially far less controversial RDR2 feature that the fandom is hoping to see in GTA 6 concerns nighttime. As underlined by a recent post from Reddit user Predator-FTW, many fans are expecting that the next GTA game will at the very least deliver atmospheric night lighting on par with RDR2's visuals. Out of all such feature requests that gained online traction this week, improved graphics are pretty much a given for Grand Theft Auto 6, both due to the last half a decade's worth of technological advancements and Rockstar's consistent track record of upping the ante in terms of production values.

While this series of RDR2-inspired feature requests for GTA 6 underlines the massive anticipation for Rockstar's next game, fans shouldn't hold their breath for official news just yet. According to recent reports citing Take-Two's financial forecasts and historical precedent, Grand Theft Auto 6 will arrive no earlier than 2024, most likely at the tail end of that tentative release window.
