A multitude of classic Rockstar titles are available at discounted prices as part of a new sale on Xbox. The games are being offered as part of Xbox's Deals with Gold program which gives Xbox Live Gold subscribers a selection of discounted backwards-compatible titles to choose from each week.

Despite making some of the most critically acclaimed titles in gaming history, Rockstar Games has had a rocky couple of years. Doubling down on the massive financial success of GTA Online, pulling the plug on support for Red Dead Online, and releasing Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - Definitive Edition in a disastrous state have put a dent in the company's typically golden reputation. With GTA 5 approaching its 10th birthday in September, fans of the world-renown heist franchise are becoming restless at the lack of any new information regarding the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6. In the meantime, fans of Rockstar's games have a chance to secure some of the studio's most renowned games at a discount.

Several of Rockstar Games' classic, most celebrated titles are available for Xbox Live Gold subscribers to download at discounted prices alongside other games like Assassin's Creed 2, Revelations, and Rogue, as well as Konami's Frogger and Frogger 2. Headlining Rockstar's massive presence on the list is the universally celebrated late-2000s classic Grand Theft Auto 4 along with both DLCs, The Ballad of Gay Tony and The Lost and Damned. Even some of Rockstar's earliest, more formative games like Manhunt, Red Dead Revolver, Bully: Scholarship Edition, Midnight Club: Los Angeles, and Rockstar Table Tennis are available as part of the sale as well.

Additionally, all three games of the former Remedy Entertainment action franchise Max Payne are part of the Xbox sale. Since Rockstar owns the rights to Max Payne and even developed the third game in the classic bullet-time action trilogy, the games are considered part of Rockstar's nearly flawless portfolio. It's possible that the trilogy is included in this Xbox sale to promote Remedy's upcoming remake of the first two Max Payne titles. Though, with Alan Wake 2 getting ready for primetime in October and Control 2, alongside two other multiplayer projects, in development at Remedy, it could be a while before fans get a glimpse at the Max Payne remake.

As Summer Game Fest approaches, it's difficult not to speculate whether Rockstar's inclusion in this sale is an indication of upcoming news in the coming weeks. Rockstar hasn't typically been a participant in E3 as it's always revealed its massive blockbuster titles on its own accord. However, now that Summer Game Fest has effectively taken over the June gaming buzz, it's definitely a possibility that Rockstar could join the party, especially with talks of Grand Theft Auto 6 reportedly eyeing 2024. Until then, Xbox gamers have a golden opportunity to grab some of Rockstar's classics on sale.
