Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 is coming to an end very soon, and the build-up that will lead to the season finale live event has already started. Players have been experiencing strange seismic activity on the battle royale island for some time now; cracks have appeared in certain areas of the map, excavation camps have been set up, and vines have started coming out of the ground.

To analyze these unusual events, players will have to place seismographs on fault lines. After this mission, Mystica will be able to analyze how much this seismic activity is affecting the island and, on top of that, players will also receive some XP to gain some last-minute Battle Pass levels.

Fault Line Locations

map locations of all the seismographs

In order to complete Week 12's quest, players will have to place three seismographs on the battle royale map. The fault lines are quite scattered, so it might be difficult for players to get to them in the same match unless they find a mobility item like ODM Gear or the Spider-Verse's Web-Shooters.

Here is where the three fault lines are located and where players must go to place the seismographs:

  • Northeast of Shattered Slabs, on the road south of the Autumnwood forest.
  • South of Frenzy Fields, near the area where the green fields meet the darker grassy area.
  • Northeast of Drift Ridge, by the bridge that leads from Mega City to Slappy Shores.

When players approach an area where they can place a seismograph, an exclamation mark will appear on their mini-map, indicating that a quest location is nearby.

How To Place Seismographs

Before being put down, a grayed hologram will appear in its place. This is exactly where players must go in order to get it up and running. They must approach the hologram and then press and hold the "Place" button to interact with it and place it.

Once this has been done, the seismographs will monitor the area and analyze any further seismic activity that might occur. Since this is connected to the extensive Fortnite lore and story, players that are interested in this side of the game will certainly enjoy this small task; it will allow them to actively participate and be a part of what is to come with the start of Chapter 4 Season 3.

Once the quest has been completed, gamers will receive 25,000 XP, which will definitely come in handy to all the players that are still trying to complete this season's Battle Pass.

Fortnite is available for Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
