A new Genshin Impact leak has revealed more information about an upcoming character named Lyney who has been rumored for a very long time. Since his first introduction in the game's first story teaser, Lyney has been one of the most anticipated characters in the community.

Lyney has been confirmed to arrive in the new Fontaine region which is expected to arrive in Genshin Impact update 4.0. Going by HoYoverse's usual update schedule, Travelers can expect version 4.0 to arrive around mid-August when the second banner cycle of 3.8 expires.

At the moment, Genshin Impact characters can have one out of the five possible weapon types. Every recently released five-star character has a signature weapon that perfectly fits their playstyle. For example, during the second banner phase of Genshin Impact update 3.6, developer HoYoverse introduced a new five-star catalyst named Primordial Jade Regalia for the Dendro character Baizhu. A Genshin Impact leaker named vississ01 has revealed more information about an upcoming weapon that will be released alongside the new five-star character Lyney. According to the post, the weapon will have the following stats:

  • Weapon type: Bow
  • Max. Base Attack: 674
  • Secondary stat: Crit damage
  • Secondary stat max. value: 44.1%
  • Rarity: Five-star
  • Passive effect: Increases the character's Pyro damage, Elemental Mastery, and Charged Attack damage

The weapon's passive effect will make it a great choice for Yoimiya and Amber, the only two Pyro bow characters in the game. Yoimiya is one of the best Pyro characters in Genshin Impact, and she's currently available on the Limited Character Banner where she's placed alongside the Electro user Yae Miko.

Even though previous rumors have been hinting that Lyney will appear on the Standard Banner, recent Genshin Impact leaks confirmed that he will be a limited five-star character. When it comes to his damage output, he is expected to have a similar DPS power as Ganyu or Tignari.

Genshin Impact update 3.0 introduced one five-star and three four-star characters, and it seems like HoYoverse will follow a similar pattern with version 4.0. Lyney is expected to be placed on the same banner as her sister Lynette who is rumored to have a four-star rarity. When it comes to her playstyle, she is expected to be a new Anemo support that uses a sword as her primary weapon.

Genshin Impact is available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5 with a Switch version also in development.
